Experience the thrill of paragliding, the simplest yet most exhilarating form of flying, and experience the joy of soaring high above the South Downs, near Petersfield, Hampshire, or near the enchanting coast around Weymouth and Swanage. A tandem flight is a type of paragliding experience where you're paired with a certified instructor who guides the paraglider, allowing you to enjoy the exhilarating sensation of flying without needing any prior training. You'll be soaring over the stunning landscapes of the South Downs near Petersfield, Hampshire, and occasionally near the coastal regions of Weymouth and Swanage, immersing yourself in breathtaking views from a unique vantage point in the sky.
Our paragliding adventure lasts 1 - 2 hours in total, with the flight's duration influenced by weather conditions. Our aim is a 20-minute airborne journey, which may be split into several flights. We're typically able to fly on most days graced with good weather. Before embarking on this unforgettable journey, there are a few things to remember:
Your flight includes 3rd party insurance through our national body, the British Hang Gliding and Paragliding Association. Please note, however, this insurance does not cover personal injury. If you require personal injury coverage, most travel insurance providers offer 1-day policies for travel within the UK with paragliding as an option.
Paragliding, while extremely enjoyable, does entail risks, including the possibility of injury and even death. We take care to reduce these risks, such as through rigorous training, equipment inspections, and careful weather monitoring. Despite these precautions, accidents can still occur. You should only opt for this adventure if you believe the joy outweighs the risk. As a comparison, insurers categorise paragliding in the same risk category as off-piste skiing, white-water rafting, and pot-holing. To ensure your safety, it's crucial that you:
We believe in spreading the thrill of paragliding, offering a once-in-a-lifetime tandem flight experience with an expert instructor. With no prior experience required, you'll find yourself running off a hillside and into the air after a brief, easy-to-understand run-through. As we stay aloft, we harness the power of wind that is pushed upwards by the hill's shape and bubbles of rising warm air known as thermals. Depending on the day, we might enjoy a gentle flight about a hundred feet above the ground, or use robust thermals to ascend to the clouds! So why wait? Come join us and soar over the South Downs.
We mostly fly on the South Downs near Petersfield, Hampshire. Occasionally we fly on the coast near Weymouth or Swanage. When you book, we will discuss where you would like to fly, and we will also check where the conditions will be best to ensure your fun and your safety.
You don’t need to be an athlete, but a moderate level of fitness is helpful. You need to weigh between 42kg and 100kg (5 to 16 stone). You should be capable of running for 30 seconds, and be able to balance and jump. If in doubt, as in the chat box on the bottom right of your screen, or you can put in a booking request and we will discuss with you before you make your payment.
There is no legal minimum age for tandem paragliding, but the passenger needs to be able to follow simple instructions, and give their consent to take part in a risky sport. For this reason, we put an age limit of nine years old.
Paragliding is a high-risk sport – insurers tend to put it in the same category as off-piste skiing or white water rafting. We do everything reasonable to reduce the risk: we are trained and inspected by our national association (the BHPA), our equipment is carefully inspected, and we have many years of experience. But we cannot reduce the risk to zero – so you should only take part if the joy of flight is worth the risk for you.
It all depends on the weather: we need no rain, and light wind from the right direction. The forecast gives us a good idea a few days in advance, and the evening before we can be 90% sure. When you book, please choose a date that suits you and add in the comments any other dates that would be suitable. We'll be in touch the night before each date to tell you if the weather is good. In addition, we may contact you if the weather forecast is good and we're looking for more passengers. You will pay once your flight is confirmed.
Grippy shoes, ideally with ankle support. A wind proof jacket and long trousers. The temperature at altitude is a bit cooler, so wear an extra layer. In winter you’ll need gloves and a scarf.

I think to be physically fit to help carry the gear once you land back to the place you started, likely my husband came and he was able to pick us up from a field each time in the car!! Butsar hill you don’t have to pay for parking. Btw
Dave was really knowledgeable and we felt like he prioritised safety really well which made the whole experience incredibly pleasant and worry free! The weather was also perfect to allow a really decent flight time which made it all even more exciting and enjoyable. Will definitely book with Dave again…
