Pallas-Yllastunturi National Park is the setting for a private snowshoe day from Levi, with a two-course lunch at a fire after the walk. About five hours covers the transfer, the walk, and the meal: salmon soup with flatbread and butter, then squeaky cheese with cloudberry jam. Snowshoes are fitted in the park, so the walking starts there rather than on a resort path.
Drive into the park follows collection in Levi, then snowshoes are fitted there so the walk starts in the park rather than on a resort path. Forest or fell is chosen depending on what you asked for, and children from age four walk with an adult. Tell us before we leave if you prefer a gentler birch line or a steeper fell section, so the day sits with the group.
Lunch is cooked at a fire in a clearing: salmon soup with Lapland flatbread and butter, then squeaky cheese with cloudberry jam. If the group is slower than planned, we allow more time for the meal rather than skipping it, then after lunch we drive you back to your accommodation. Snowshoes come off before the drive home, so the last stretch is in the vehicle rather than on the trail.
National park ground, not the short loops beside the village, is where this day sits, with birch forest, open fell and a clearing as the setting. Driving from Levi is part of the five hours, so you spend the walking time in the park rather than on paths next to the resort. Once the shoes are on, the village sits well behind you.
Reached from Levi rather than from a trailhead you find yourself, Pallas-Yllastunturi is national park ground in Finnish Lapland. Fire lunches happen in a clearing where you walked, not back at a cafe in the resort. Levi is the winter village you leave from, and the park is the destination for both the snowshoeing and the meal.
Snowshoeing beforehand is not required, because the shoes are fitted in the park with an explanation before you walk. Happy walking in snow for the moving part of a five-hour day that also includes sitting in the vehicle is the main ask. Children from age four need an adult on the trail, and you can ask for a gentler birch line if a steeper fell section does not suit the group.
Fire stops stay outdoors, so bring a warm base layer and shoes you can walk in for hours. Tell us about soup or cheese allergies when you reserve, so lunch can be planned. Walking shoes that take a snowshoe binding are more useful than smooth-soled boots.
Choosing forest or fell is yours rather than a fixed public route, because your party walks privately. Lunch is cooked where you walked, and snowshoes and the transfer are included, which is why you pack clothing rather than hiring kit in the village. Same guide is with you from pickup in Levi to the park and on the drive home.
Two-course meals at the fire, not a snack bar on the way, are what we keep time for even if the walk runs slow. Starting the shoes in the park means the walking hours are on national park ground. Collection from your stay is part of the five hours, so you are not arranging a separate transfer into Pallas-Yllastunturi.
We collect you in Levi and drive into Pallas-Yllastunturi National Park. Snowshoes are fitted in the park, not in the resort, so the walk begins in the landscape you came to see.
You walk with your guide on birch forest tracks or open fell at the pace you asked for, with the line shortened if the group needs more time for lunch.
Salmon soup and flatbread lead into squeaky cheese with cloudberry jam at the fire. After lunch we drive you back to your Levi accommodation, with the same guide who started the morning with you.
About five hours from collection to drop-off at your accommodation, including the drive into Pallas-Yllastunturi, the snowshoe walk, and the two-course lunch by the fire.
The clock is the whole visit. A slower group gets a shorter trail, not a late return nobody planned for.
No. Shoes are fitted in the park and your guide teaches the step before distance adds up. The pace matches your group unless you asked for a steeper fell line in advance.
Children from age four are welcome with an adult. Share ages so we confirm the path is realistic before the vehicle leaves Levi.
Two courses in the clearing: salmon soup with Lapland flatbread and butter, then squeaky cheese with cloudberry jam, cooked outside at the fire.
Send allergies when you reserve. Fish and dairy appear in different courses, so both need to be clear before the meal is packed.
We collect you from your Levi accommodation, drive into the national park, and return you to the same address after lunch.
A full address and a working mobile matter on a day with a long transfer. We call if weather suggests a small change to the walk.
Cancel at least 72 hours before start for a full refund. Inside that window, or on a no-show, the transfer, guide, and lunch stay charged for your private group.
If park weather changes the line, we phone the mobile on your booking. That is us adjusting the walk, not you cancelling from the hotel window alone.
The day is private and can start from one guest. Tell us your party size when you reserve so soup, cheese, and shoes match the group.
Your guide stays with you from Levi through the park. You are not handed to a different leader at the trailhead.
Snowshoes are provided. Bring a warm wool or synthetic base layer and shoes you can walk in for hours, including time in the vehicle.
You cool down quickly at the fire after walking. A spare layer in the vehicle is sensible on a five-hour winter day.
Professional photography is an optional extra. The clearing and fell both photograph well when your hands are not full of soup bowls.
Phones are welcome at the fire once the group is seated. Filming while you learn the snowshoe step is an easy way to tangle frames.
The default line is moderate and matched to your group. You may ask for a steeper fell section, and we plan that before the shoes go on rather than halfway up a slope.
If stairs are already difficult at home, say so when you book. We can keep the walk in the birch instead of taking you onto open fell.
We need names, children's ages, your Levi address, a mobile number, and dietary notes for salmon soup and for squeaky cheese with cloudberry jam.
Say whether you prefer forest or fell, and mention anyone new to snowshoes so the fitting in the park is not rushed.
