Experience the Arctic wilderness on a guided snowmobile tour through snowy forests and frozen landscapes. This adventure offers a mix of riding, short stops to enjoy the surroundings, and a campfire break with warm drinks for a relaxing pause mid-journey. It’s a perfect option for those wanting a hands-on winter experience with guidance and support.
The session begins with hotel pick-up or a meeting point in Rovaniemi before heading to the snowmobile start location. Once ready, your guide provides safety instructions and familiarises you with the snowmobile, including driving tips and hand signals for communication during the ride. You’ll then follow scenic trails through the Taiga forest and over frozen terrain, moving at a comfortable pace suitable for the group.
Several stops along the route allow you to take photos, enjoy the surroundings, and experience a short campfire break. Here, hot drinks are served, and the guide shares insights about local wildlife and the winter environment. After the break, you return along the trails to the start point, enjoying the final leg of your adventure before heading back to Rovaniemi.
The tour takes place in the Rovaniemi area, covering well-maintained trails and scenic spots in the Arctic forest. Routes are chosen to balance riding enjoyment with safe terrain and opportunities to experience Lapland’s snowy landscapes. The exact location may vary depending on snow and weather conditions to ensure the best possible experience.
Participants are transported from their accommodation or central meeting point to the trailhead. This reduces exposure to traffic and city lights, letting you enjoy the serene Arctic wilderness. The surroundings include dense forests, open snowy fields, and occasional frozen streams, providing a classic Lapland landscape.
A valid physical driving license (A1, T, A, or B category) is required to drive a snowmobile. Drivers must be at least 18 years old and able to follow safety instructions carefully. Solo travellers can join, but a minimum of two paying adults is required for the tour to operate.
Participants should be reasonably fit and comfortable spending 2–2.5 hours outdoors in winter conditions. While thermal clothing and boots are provided, layering with suitable base layers, gloves, and hats is recommended to ensure comfort throughout the tour.
The small-group format, limited to eight participants, allows guides to provide personalised instruction and adapt the pace to suit the group. This ensures everyone feels confident on their snowmobile and receives attention during stops along the trail.
Safety is a priority, with all guides trained in winter driving and first aid. Combined with well-maintained trails and thoughtfully selected stops, the tour offers a structured yet flexible experience, perfect for first-time snowmobilers or anyone wanting a scenic Arctic adventure.
