Basic boating experience is recommended but not required. The course is designed to accommodate all skill levels.
This course is designed for a two-person team—a skipper and their deckhand. If you don't have a deckhand, please contact us to discuss options.
Yes, the course is heavily focused on practical, hands-on training in real-world scenarios, including close-quarter manoeuvres and communication exercises.
The course will proceed in most weather conditions using our closed-top training vessel. In cases of severe weather, we may reschedule for safety reasons.
The course is conducted using our fully equipped training vessel to ensure consistency. However, if you wish to use your own boat, please discuss this with us when booking.

Jason and Steven were very helpful in training me, despite the bad weather we had on the day. Would highly recommend to anyone wishing to become a powerboat captain.

Jason was an excellent tutor - spot on with health and safety such practicing ‘man over board’ and giving patient instruction on how to berth without ramming the pontoon too hard (especially in the wind which was fierce at times).
