A catamaran sail from Puerto Morelos with a snorkel, time on the beach and lunch, close to town so the sailing is part of the day and not a commute. The crew fits the kit and explains the entry before you leave the deck. We pick you up and bring you back after the boat is in.
Pickup takes you to registration, which is a real stop, not a wave from the pavement, and then the catamaran heads out. The crew fits the snorkel kit and talks you through the entry before anyone leaves the deck.
You get time on a beach on this same coast, and lunch is served during the outing. The crew tells you how long you have ashore before the sail home, and the transfer to your hotel follows once the boat is back.
Puerto Morelos reef sits close to town, so the sail and the snorkel stay on that coast instead of running all the way to Isla Mujeres. The beach stop is on the same stretch of shore, which keeps the day compact and sunny.
The crew picks the mooring for the swell and tells you before you kit up. Swell here is often gentler than further north, and they still choose the spot rather than dropping you on the first patch of colour. You stay with the group from registration through the ride home.
You will need to be at least 4 years old. Most of the outing is in the sun on the boat and the beach, so sun protection and water once you are out of the van will make it a better day.
For the snorkel, be comfortable in a life jacket and able to follow the crew in the water. They tell you how long the swim is before you get in, which means you can relax into it.
Registration, the sail and the snorkel follow an order that makes sense, with the safety talk on the boat before the water. Lunch is part of the outing, so you are not peeling off to find a restaurant between the swim and the beach.
The beach stop and the meal belong to the same trip. If the reef is rough the crew moves the stop and says so before you enter, and the return transfer is the pickup in reverse once everyone is counted.
Hotel lobby pickup applies on routes that include transport; be ready at the stated departure time with photo ID for children if parks require it.
Self drivers receive meeting point coordinates and parking notes from the operator ahead of the activity date.
Wear light clothes you can move in, closed shoes, and a hat. This includes a boat, so sun cream and a bottle of water are worth having from the start.
Bring swimwear underneath if the visit includes a swim, and a dry layer for the van or the boat. Secure anything you do not want to lose.
You should come ready for a catamaran sail, a snorkel and time on the beach. Most of the time is outside, so the heat is as much a part of the day as the activity itself.
Take water when you need it, and tell the guide at the start if you want a slower place in the group. That is much easier than trying to catch them once everyone is already moving.
Lunch is included on this visit, so you do not need to bring a meal with you. If you have a dietary need, tell the guide at the start of the day so they can pass it on before you sit down.
Bring water for the time you spend between stops, because those gaps can be longer than they look. Extra drinks may be for sale, but do not count on a shop being open at every place you stop.
Light rain does not usually stop the visit. Lightning, a rough sea or a track that is too soft can shorten or move a section, and the guide explains that before you continue.
You will hear the change before you kit up for the next part. The group stays together while that decision is made.
Anyone taking part needs to be at least 4 years old, and children need an adult with them. The guide will say before a section starts if it is not suitable for someone in your group.
They need to be able to listen to the safety talk and stay with the group. The same briefing applies to adults and to children.
You should be comfortable wearing a life jacket and following the guide in the water. You do not need to be a strong swimmer.
The guide stays nearby and calls the group out together. If you would like to stay closer to the entry, say so before you get in.
You can bring a phone or a camera if it is secure and you can spare a hand. Ask the crew before you attach anything to a helmet, a harness or a handlebar.
If someone is taking photos for the group that day, the crew will say so when you arrive. They will also tell you where to collect them afterwards.
If a ruin, a reserve or a beach asks for a local payment, the guide explains it before you get to the entrance. It helps to have a little cash with you in case that happens.
Tips for the crew are your own choice at the end of the day. The guide is the person to ask if you are not sure what a site is asking for.
Bring a dry bag for a phone and anything else you want to keep dry. Ask the crew when you arrive if there is somewhere to change and leave a bag.
Put your name on anything you set down. The group moves between stops, and bags are easy to mix up.
A phone in a waterproof pouch is the simplest option on a boat or in the water. Ask the crew before you strap a camera to a helmet or a machine.
Drones and flash are often not allowed near wildlife or at the ruins. Follow what the guide and the site ask on the day.
