Plan a proposal around a private helicopter flight from Grosse Ile to downtown Detroit and back, with hangar time for family and friends to wait or celebrate. Complimentary champagne and a simple hangar setup help mark the moment before or after you fly.
After check-in and a short safety video, you board a heated and air-conditioned helicopter for a private flight toward downtown Detroit and back. Family and friends can use the private hangar window to wait or celebrate, with tables and chairs available for a simple setup.
Propose before, during or after the flight. Complimentary champagne is included for a toast. Flight times are approximate and may shift with weather and weight balance.
Grosse Ile sits in the Detroit River south of the city, so lift-off is from a small island airport rather than a busy commercial field.
The flight corridor toward downtown gives river and skyline context for the proposal package.
No flying experience is needed. Passengers should be able to board with minimal help and follow the safety briefing.
Bring any personal decor or a photographer if you want a more styled hangar moment; those items are not included.
Private aircraft and hangar time keep the celebration for your group only, with room to stage the question around the flight rather than rushing a short scenic hop.
Pilots who fly Detroit river and downtown routes daily keep the airborne segment calm and well briefed.
