Charlie was great. He assessed the ability and confidence levels in the group very well, so that everyone in our mixed group left feeling they'd been challenged enough to feel they'd achieved something. I would really recommend Charlie.

Ride some of the best natural single track routes in the Scottish Highlands. The session is tailored for groups up to six, with a local guide who knows the area intimately and has scouted both popular and hidden trails. It’s a great option for riders looking to explore challenging terrain while enjoying spectacular Highland landscapes.
Your day begins with a short briefing in Torridon where the guide will discuss route options based on the group’s ability and the trail conditions. From there, you’ll head out onto the trails for a full day of mountain biking through a mix of forest, moorland, and coastal paths. The routes are chosen for their flow, scenery, and challenge—and can include lesser-known gems not found in any guidebook.
Expect a varied ride with plenty of opportunities to test your bike handling skills. You'll tackle single-track descents, rocky climbs, and scenic traverses, with breaks to refuel, enjoy the views, and make any tweaks to your riding style. The experience is not only about covering ground but also about improving your technique and learning how to approach natural trail features with confidence.
Throughout the day, sustainability is a focus. The guide will discuss riding responsibly in the Highlands, highlighting the importance of trail care, environmental impact, and responsible access. Whether you're new to riding off-road or already confident on technical terrain, you'll come away with more trail knowledge and a greater appreciation for this unique area.
Torridon is located in the Northwest Highlands, an area known for its dramatic scenery and remote feel. With mountains rising sharply from the sea and ancient glens connecting forests and lochs, it's a landscape made for adventure. The trails here offer a good balance of rideable technical features and flowy sections, making it one of the most exciting places to mountain bike in the UK.
The terrain ranges from loamy woodland paths to open moorland and rocky descents, all set against the backdrop of some of Scotland’s highest peaks. Riding here offers a sense of freedom and space that’s hard to find elsewhere, with the added bonus of few other riders on the trails.
Participants should have a reasonable level of fitness and be comfortable riding off-road on a mountain bike. Previous experience on single track trails is beneficial but not essential, as the guide will tailor the ride to suit the group’s abilities. A suitable mountain bike and helmet are required; bike hire can be arranged separately.
The guide brings over ten years of experience in outdoor leadership and instruction, holding multiple recognised qualifications across mountain biking, climbing, paddlesports, and snow sports. Based in the Highlands since 2013, he offers deep local knowledge combined with a strong focus on environmental sustainability.
With a MSc in Sustainable Mountain Development, the business emphasises low-impact practices and responsible use of the landscape. The approach ensures that clients enjoy high-quality adventure experiences while respecting and preserving the natural environment for future riders.
Yes, helmets are mandatory for all riders. This is a safety requirement and we won’t be able to take anyone out without one.
If you're hiring a bike, many providers include helmets, but it’s best to double check when booking.
Food and drink are not provided, so please bring your own snacks and water for the day.
We’ll have rest stops where you can refuel and enjoy the views, so pack what you need to keep your energy up.
