Charlie was great. He assessed the ability and confidence levels in the group very well, so that everyone in our mixed group left feeling they'd been challenged enough to feel they'd achieved something. I would really recommend Charlie.

Archery is a great way to enjoy some time outdoors with friends or family. Suitable for all ages, this session provides expert instruction in a relaxed setting with views across to Skye. It’s a perfect introduction to the sport or a great addition to other half-day activities.
The session begins with a safety briefing and introduction to the equipment. Participants will learn basic techniques for shooting, including stance, draw, aim, and release. The instructor provides personalised tips to help improve accuracy and build confidence throughout the hour.
Practice is balanced with friendly challenges and games to keep everyone engaged. Whether trying archery for the first time or brushing up skills, the small group size ensures plenty of individual attention. The outdoor range benefits from the fresh Highland air and scenic views, making the experience both enjoyable and memorable.
The session concludes with a cool-down chat about the sport’s history and guidance on how to continue practicing safely if participants want to explore archery further.
The activity takes place at a dedicated archery range near Gairloch Harbour, offering direct views across to the Isle of Skye. This coastal location provides a sheltered environment ideal for beginners while still being scenic and inviting.
Gairloch is a picturesque village in the Northwest Highlands, known for its rugged coastline, beaches, and nearby mountain landscapes. The archery range is easily accessible from the harbour area, making it convenient for visitors staying locally or passing through.
No previous experience is required to join this session. Participants should be able to stand and follow basic safety instructions. Suitable clothing for outdoor weather conditions is recommended, as the session runs rain or shine.
Children aged 6 and over are welcome, making it a family-friendly activity. Younger participants should be accompanied by an adult.
The instructor brings over ten years of experience in outdoor sports, holding multiple professional qualifications including Summer and Winter Mountain Leader and GNAS archery instructor certification. Their approach is friendly and adaptable, ensuring each session suits the group’s skill level and interest.
With a strong commitment to sustainability, the business operates in a way that respects the Highland environment. Equipment and locations are chosen carefully to minimise impact, providing authentic experiences that connect participants with the natural surroundings responsibly.
