Your day begins with a comfortable ride in a brand-new 2025 luxury 4×4 van, travelling approximately 105 km from Rovaniemi into Korouoma National Park. The scenic journey passes through quiet roads, colorful forests, and open countryside, preparing you for the peaceful wilderness ahead.
Upon arrival, your certified guide leads the group on a 4–6 km hike along canyon trails, through golden autumn forests and past striking rock formations. The crunch of leaves underfoot and the whisper of the wind through trees highlight the serene beauty of the Arctic autumn. Along the way, you’ll pause at scenic viewpoints, capturing photographs and observing the unique flora and fauna of the region.
Midway through the hike, gather around a fire for hot drinks and a traditional Lapland barbecue. Enjoy grilled sausages while taking in the vivid colors of the canyon and learning about local traditions from your guide. The return journey in the comfortable 4×4 van concludes the day, giving time to reflect on the unique landscapes explored.
Korouoma Canyon is located about 105 km north of Rovaniemi, in a protected area famous for its dramatic cliffs, waterfalls, and autumn foliage. Trails are well chosen for safety, scenic variety, and minimal disruption from tourists, providing a truly immersive wilderness experience.
The surrounding forests, streams, and canyon viewpoints offer both tranquility and photo opportunities. Wildlife may be spotted along the trails, including birds preparing for winter and small mammals active in the leaf litter. The canyon’s autumn colors create a unique backdrop for all participants, combining natural beauty with quiet solitude.
A moderate level of fitness is recommended, as some sections of the trail may be uneven or slippery with autumn leaves. Children under 8 are not recommended for this tour. Participants should wear layers suitable for cooler autumn temperatures, including hats, gloves, and waterproof footwear.
Guides provide full safety briefings and support throughout the hike. Knowledge of basic hiking techniques or experience with outdoor walking is helpful but not required. The small group size ensures personal attention and a comfortable pace for all guests.
