Jumeirah Beach is the launch for a 30-minute kayak on Dubai coastal water, in a single or a double depending on the rate you choose. Staff cover basic strokes on the sand, you wear a life jacket, and hotel transfer is available if you do not want to find the beach yourself. The session is first-timer friendly in usual coastal conditions, and you should expect to get wet.
After you arrive you fit a life jacket, hear a short beach briefing, then paddle in a marked area off Jumeirah rather than through Dubai Marina. The session is self-paced once you are afloat, with staff remaining on the beach and in radio or visual range. Keep a comfortable distance from swimmers and jet skis, and turn around with enough time to land before the slot ends.
Choose a single for a solo paddle or a double to share with a child or a less confident partner. This is a coastal kayak outing, not a long guided expedition, so keep valuables in a waterproof case and expect spray. A parent or guardian should paddle the double if a 12-year-old is new to kayaks.
Jumeirah Beach sits on Dubai's central coast, with hotels, a promenade and taxi access along Jumeirah Road. You look along the shoreline rather than into the Marina canal, so the setting is open sea and beach, not high-rise pontoons.
Hotel pickup, when included, collects you in Dubai and returns you after you change. Independent guests should allow time for weekend beach traffic and a short walk from the drop-off to the kayak point.
You should be at least 12, able to swim, and happy to wear a life jacket for the whole session. No prior kayak certificate is required, and staff cover basic strokes before you leave the sand.
Bring a passport or photo ID, swimwear, water shoes, sunscreen and a towel. Phones need a waterproof case, and jewellery and large bags are better left at the hotel.
Single and double options, a short beach briefing, and optional hotel transfer make this a straightforward first paddle in Dubai. You stay in a marked area off Jumeirah, so the outing stays compact and first-timer friendly.
The water is usually calm enough for a first paddle, and life jackets stay on until you land. You can be on the sand, briefed and afloat without assembling your own craft or finding a marina berth.
