A ranch day with horses, an ATV trail, zip lines and a cenote swim, plus a short tequila tasting once you are off everything that moves. Each activity is explained when you reach it, not as a pile of instructions at the gate. We pick you up and bring you back afterwards.
You start with help into the saddle, including if you have never ridden, then jungle paths at the pace the guide sets and the spacing they ask for. Horses and ATVs are not out together, so you finish one, hand the kit back, and only then hear about the next.
Helmets come out for the ATV, controls shown before the trail, and the zip lines get a fresh harness check at the platform. The cenote is later, a cool-off, and the tasting is a short, cheerful stop before the ride back to your hotel.
The ranch is in the Riviera Maya jungle, inland from the coast, with the trails, the zip circuit and the cenote on the same property. The yard is where the day changes activity, which keeps it feeling like one visit instead of four errands.
Paths alternate between shade and open track, and the cenote is a freshwater pool you reach on foot from the yard, not the sea. Guides keep the group on the ranch until the transfer home.
You will need to be at least 4 years old, and the day is warm, so sun cream and water from the van will matter. Say you have not ridden while the saddle is going on, and the guide can match the horse before the line moves.
For the cenote, be comfortable in a life jacket and able to follow the guide. On the horse, the ATV and the zip lines you use the kit only after it has been checked, each time, at the place you will use it.
Horses, ATVs and zip lines are briefed one at a time, at the yard or the platform, so you are not handed three sets of instructions and a hopeful smile. The horse is matched before you leave, and the helmet for the ATV is a separate fitting from anything you wore in the saddle.
The crew rides and drives these trails all week and sets a pace a mixed group can keep, which is what makes the combination fun instead of frantic. If a horse or a section of track is not right that day, they say so before you set off.
Hotel lobby pickup applies on routes that include transport; be ready at the stated departure time with photo ID for children if parks require it.
Self drivers receive meeting point coordinates and parking notes from the operator ahead of the activity date.
Wear light clothes you can move in, closed shoes, and a hat. This includes a ranch day, so sun cream and a bottle of water are worth having from the start.
Bring swimwear underneath if the visit includes a swim, and a dry layer for the van or the boat. Secure anything you do not want to lose.
You should come ready for horseback riding, an ATV, zip lines and a cenote swim. Most of the time is outside, so the heat is as much a part of the day as the activity itself.
Take water when you need it, and tell the guide at the start if you want a slower place in the group. That is much easier than trying to catch them once everyone is already moving.
A short tequila tasting is included near the end of the visit. It is not a meal, so eat before you come if you will be hungry.
Bring water for the time on the trail. If you have a dietary need, tell the guide when you arrive.
Light rain does not usually stop the visit. Lightning, a rough sea or a track that is too soft can shorten or move a section, and the guide explains that before you continue.
You will hear the change before you kit up for the next part. The group stays together while that decision is made.
Anyone taking part needs to be at least 4 years old, and children need an adult with them. The guide will say before a section starts if it is not suitable for someone in your group.
They need to be able to listen to the safety talk and stay with the group. The same briefing applies to adults and to children.
You do not need to have done this before. The guide explains how it works, and what they need from you, before the group sets off.
If it is your first time, say so during that briefing. It is easier to ask while everyone is still together than once you are underway.
You can bring a phone or a camera if it is secure and you can spare a hand. Ask the crew before you attach anything to a helmet, a harness or a handlebar.
If someone is taking photos for the group that day, the crew will say so when you arrive. They will also tell you where to collect them afterwards.
If a ruin, a reserve or a beach asks for a local payment, the guide explains it before you get to the entrance. It helps to have a little cash with you in case that happens.
Tips for the crew are your own choice at the end of the day. The guide is the person to ask if you are not sure what a site is asking for.
Bring a dry bag for a phone and anything else you want to keep dry. Ask the crew when you arrive if there is somewhere to change and leave a bag.
Put your name on anything you set down. The group moves between stops, and bags are easy to mix up.
A phone in a waterproof pouch is the simplest option on a boat or in the water. Ask the crew before you strap a camera to a helmet or a machine.
Drones and flash are often not allowed near wildlife or at the ruins. Follow what the guide and the site ask on the day.
