Join us for a captivating winter hillwalking experience amidst the stunning landscapes of Glen Coe and the Black Mount region. Our expeditions are tailored to the unique Scottish weather conditions, prioritising safety and route selection. With 282 mountains in Scotland exceeding 914m/3000ft, we explore and guide year-round, conquering summits in remote, wild locations. During the winter season, we set our sights on the iconic peaks of the Western Highlands.
In Glen Coe's winter terrain, you'll encounter reduced daylight, snow-covered landscapes, and ever-changing conditions in remote settings. These elements will test your mountaineering skills and resilience, creating an authentic and rewarding adventure.
The journey will lead you to some of the most iconic summits in the Western Highlands, including Bidean nam Bian, the highest peak in Glen Coe and Argyle, standing at 1150 meters. You'll also explore Stob Coire nan Lochan, Buachaille Etive Mor, and Buachaille Etive Beag, all renowned for their stunning beauty.
Throughout your expedition, you'll be guided by a professional instructor in a small group of no more than six participants. Your instructor will teach you how to confidently use ice axes and crampons while safely navigating steep, snow-covered terrain.
The focus will be on developing essential winter mountaineering skills, encompassing an understanding of mountain weather forecasts, avalanche awareness, navigation techniques, effective decision-making, and the self-assurance needed to become an independent adventurer in winter conditions.
Immerse yourself in the pristine beauty of Glen Coe's winter wonderland, capturing unforgettable memories against this awe-inspiring backdrop. With a small group size, you'll receive personalised attention and support from your guide, ensuring a tailored learning experience that caters to your individual needs and abilities.
Beyond the adventure itself, this experience equips you with valuable skills that extend far into future winter mountaineering expeditions. Your safety remains paramount, and your guide will closely monitor weather conditions, ensuring your enjoyment and security throughout the journey.
