Cross the Miño on an electric bike from Tui into the Portuguese town of Vila Nova de Cerveira, with historic streets on both sides of the water and wide river views from the bridge. The motor keeps the ride relaxed so you can enjoy two countries in one morning without turning it into a fitness test.
After a briefing and bike fitting near the river, you explore Tui's old centre before heading onto the international bridge with your guide setting a pace everyone can follow. On the Portuguese bank you reach Cerveira, with time for photos above the Miño and a wander through colourful streets at a comfortable speed.
Bring a passport or valid ID for the border crossing on the bridge. The ride returns to the same meeting area in Tui after about four hours on the bikes.
Tui rises above the Miño with a cathedral and medieval lanes that feel made for a slow roll on two wheels. Your meeting point is on Rúa Olímpicos Tudenses, close to the riverside paths that lead towards the bridge.
Vila Nova de Cerveira sits on the opposite bank, with an artistic small-town atmosphere and terraces that look straight across the water to Galicia. Cobbles, shared paths, and river breeze are part of the outing, so attention at crossings still matters even with motor assistance.
Every rider should be comfortable handling a bicycle on shared paths, cobbled streets, and light traffic, including braking when the surface is damp. The motor helps on gentle rises, but you still steer and balance a bike that weighs around twenty kilograms.
Riders need to be at least 1.55 metres tall for the frames we use. Carry passport or ID for the bridge crossing. We recommend age twelve and above for this route.
Groups stay at fifteen riders or fewer, which keeps the convoy manageable on the bridge and through the historic cores. Helmets and locks are included, and the briefing is a proper fitting rather than a rushed send-off.
This is an easy way to taste two countries in one ride without a long transfer or a packed coach itinerary. You get cathedral views, river air, and Cerveira's charm on a route built for riders who want culture with light effort.
Plan for about four hours from the fitting in Tui to the return along the same riverside meeting area. That includes the ride through the historic centre, the crossing into Portugal, and time exploring Vila Nova de Cerveira above the Miño.
Start times are shown on the booking calendar. Arrive a few minutes early so helmets and saddle height are set before you join the route. The pace stays conversational so you can enjoy the streets and the water without rushing.
This is a guided shared outing with up to fifteen riders in the group, including your own party. Solo travellers and pairs are welcome, and the guide keeps the line together at crossings and on the international bridge.
A private version may appear separately on the calendar when it is available for your dates. Group and private products are priced differently when both are listed.
You meet on Rúa Olímpicos Tudenses in Tui, postcode 36700. The historic centre and cathedral are a short walk away, and there is parking and public transport access in the town.
Transport to the meeting point is not included in the price. Closed-toe shoes from the moment you arrive save time at the briefing. Allow a little extra time if you are arriving from Portugal or travelling in peak summer.
We recommend riders aged twelve and above who are at least 1.55 metres tall. The electric bikes weigh around twenty kilograms, so everyone needs enough strength to steady the bike at stops and on gentle slopes.
Anyone under eighteen needs an adult on the same booking. The cobbled streets and riverside paths suit riders who are already comfortable on a bicycle rather than someone on their very first ride.
The price covers a guided ride of about four hours, an e-bike for each rider, a helmet, and a lock. Fitting and a short safety briefing happen before you leave the meeting area.
Meals, drinks, and personal travel insurance are extra. Phone mounts and baby carriers are available for a small extra charge on the day. Any café stops in Cerveira are at your own cost.
Yes. You cross the international bridge from Tui into Portugal, so carry a passport or valid ID that you can show if asked. The guide reminds the group before you cross.
EU citizens usually pass through smoothly, but the requirement still applies. Without ID you may not be able to complete the ride into Vila Nova de Cerveira.
You roll through Tui's old streets first, then cross the bridge that links Spain and Portugal above the Miño. On the Portuguese side you reach Vila Nova de Cerveira, known for colourful streets, arts events, and wide views back across the river.
The electric motor keeps the climb sections manageable so you can focus on the scenery. The guide sets a steady pace suited to the group and the cobbled sections in the historic cores.
Comfortable clothes and closed-toe shoes with a firm sole are the basics. Skip flip-flops because cobbled streets in the historic centres are uneven. A light waterproof helps when river mist or a shower passes through.
Bring water, sunscreen, and a small bag that stays secure on your back. Carry your passport or ID in a zipped pocket you can reach quickly at the bridge.
Light rain is common in Galicia and the ride usually still goes ahead on damp paths and cobbles. Keep speeds modest, follow the guide's line, and wear a waterproof so you stay comfortable along the water.
Strong wind, storms, or conditions that make the bridge or riverside paths unsafe can mean the outing is rescheduled. Your guide will agree another date with you when that happens.
You do not need racing fitness or road cycling experience. The electric motor helps on the gentle rises between the river and the old town, and the guide keeps a relaxed pace that matches the group.
You should already feel steady steering and braking on a bike. Cobbles, shared paths, and river breeze are part of the outing, so calm attention at crossings matters more than leg power.
