Wide open sand, coastal tracks, and quiet stretches far from built-up areas make this quad ride a memorable way to see Dakhla. In one hour, you’ll cover desert ground, follow the edge of the lagoon, and reach places rarely accessed without a quad.
Pick-up from your accommodation starts the experience, followed by a short transfer to the quad starting point near the dunes. After a clear safety briefing and introduction to the quad controls, there’s time to get comfortable before setting off. The first section focuses on dune driving, where soft sand and open space allow you to settle into the ride and enjoy the sense of freedom the area is known for.
From the desert interior, the route shifts towards the coastline, running alongside the lagoon. Driving here feels completely different, with firm tracks, open views, and striking contrasts between sand and water. Several natural pauses are built in, giving you time to stop, look out over the lagoon, and take photos without feeling rushed.
The final part of the ride leads towards wild cliffs and quiet beaches, reaching areas that are difficult to access without off-road vehicles. A short tea stop is included along the way, offering a relaxed break before looping back towards the starting point and returning to Dakhla.
Dakhla sits on a narrow peninsula where desert and ocean meet, creating a landscape unlike anywhere else in Morocco. The quad routes take full advantage of this setting, moving between sand dunes, coastal paths, and open shoreline.
Away from the town centre, the area feels remote and untouched, with wide horizons and very little traffic. Riding here offers a strong sense of space, with scenery changing quickly as the route moves from inland desert to lagoon edges and beaches.
No previous quad experience is needed, as full instructions are provided before the ride begins. Confidence in steering and basic vehicle control is helpful, but routes are adapted to suit different comfort levels.
Sunglasses, sunscreen, and a cap are recommended due to sun exposure and sand. Closed shoes and comfortable clothing suitable for outdoor conditions will help make the ride more enjoyable.
Experiences are designed to make the most of Dakhla’s unique geography while keeping everything straightforward and well organised. Transfers, equipment, and guidance are all handled together, removing the need to plan each element separately.
Routes are chosen for variety and access, allowing riders to see parts of the region that are rarely visited. Local knowledge ensures each ride balances scenery, safety, and enjoyment within a short but well-paced session.
No prior quad experience is required. Before the ride begins, you’ll receive a full explanation of how to control the quad, including steering, braking, and acceleration.
Guidance continues throughout the session, with the guide adjusting the pace to suit the group. Even first-time riders usually feel comfortable once the ride gets underway.
Dune sections are selected to be enjoyable rather than technical. The sand is open and forgiving, allowing you to focus on balance and throttle control without tackling steep or difficult climbs.
Instructions are given on how to approach softer sand, helping you feel confident while keeping the ride smooth and controlled.
Riding along the lagoon offers a completely different feel from the dunes. Firmer ground and open views create a relaxed pace, ideal for taking in the surroundings.
Stops near the water allow time to appreciate the contrast between the desert landscape and the turquoise lagoon that defines the area.
Several natural pauses are included during the ride. These stops are planned at scenic points along the dunes, lagoon, and coastline.
Time is allowed to take photos, look around, and enjoy a short break without feeling like the route is being rushed.
Riders aged 10 and above can take part, provided they are comfortable following instructions and riding responsibly. Safety equipment is provided, and routes are adapted to suit mixed ability levels.
Supervision and clear guidance help ensure younger riders feel supported throughout the experience.
Clothing suitable for outdoor conditions works best, as sand and dust are part of the experience. Closed shoes are strongly recommended for control and comfort.
Sunglasses, sunscreen, and a cap help protect against sun and wind during the ride.
