Meet us in Tambo-an for a one-hour ATV ride at the foot of the Chocolate Hills. Your guide briefs you at the yard, then leads the line so you can look at the cones without finding the trail yourself. This is a ride out and back from the Carmen base.
Arrive at the yard, tell the staff your name, and wait for the briefing. Helmets go on before anyone starts a machine. Your guide explains the controls, the spacing between riders, and the line you will follow around the fields at the base of the hills.
The hour is an out-and-back from the same yard. You travel along the trails under the cones, pause when the guide stops the line for a look or a rest, and hand the machine in when you return. Stay behind the rider in front; raise a hand if you want a photograph, and the line can pause.
Tambo-an sits in Carmen, inland from the Bohol coast. The Chocolate Hills stand just above the yard, so you are on the trails within a few minutes of leaving the briefing.
Grass-covered cones sit among farmland and palm. You ride at the foot of them, not on a highway between towns. The viewpoint deck is close enough that the hills stay in sight for most of the hour.
Riders from 7 can join. You need to sit steadily on an ATV, follow a simple briefing, and be happy on uneven grass and dirt. No licence and no previous riding are required.
The machines vibrate and the sun is strong on open ground. This outing is not a good fit if you are pregnant or if you have a back or neck problem that makes a bumpy ride unwise. Tell your guide before you start if you would rather sit out part of the loop.
Guides here work from the Carmen yard every day, so they know the grass, the mud, and when a patch of trail is worth skipping. The team stays with your line until the machines are back.
Helmets come from the yard, and the same person who talks you through the controls leads the hour. First-timers are the usual guests, so the pace is set for people who have not ridden before.
Meet us in Tambo-an, Carmen, at the ATV yard. Search for the rental pin on your maps app and tell the staff you have already booked. The ride starts and ends at the same yard.
No. Your guide covers the controls and the spacing between machines before the line moves. Most first-timers feel settled after the first few minutes on the grass.
Say at the briefing if this is your first ride. The loop is led, so you are not asked to navigate or to keep up with faster riders on your own.
Meet at the ATV yard in Tambo-an, Carmen. Pin the rental on your maps app and come to the desk when you arrive. Tell the staff you have already booked so they do not sell you the same hour again.
There is no hotel pickup on this outing. Allow time for the drive from Panglao or Tagbilaran, as Carmen sits inland from the coast.
The booked ride is one hour, run as an out-and-back from the yard. Briefing time sits at the start, then you are on the trail for the hour.
The line pauses for a look at the hills and for a short rest if anyone needs water. Those pauses are part of the hour, not extra time added on at the end.
The minimum age is 7. A child who is big enough and calm after the briefing may ride their own machine. Smaller or less settled children can sit with an adult if the guide agrees.
Tell us ages when you book so the yard can have the right machines ready. The guide's decision on the day stands if a child is not ready to ride alone.
Wear closed shoes and clothes that can take dust and a little mud. A long sleeve helps if the grass is wet. Tie back long hair before the helmet goes on.
Leave loose scarves and dangling jewellery in your bag. Sunglasses with a strap stay on better than a loose pair. There is no need for special riding kit.
No. You make your own way to the Carmen yard. The hour starts and ends there, so you will need a ride back to your hotel after you hand the machine in.
If you do not have a driver, allow extra time to arrange a car from the coast. We cannot hold the briefing for late arrivals once the line has gone out.
Light rain usually means a muddier trail, not a cancelled hour. Your guide will slow the line and skip a slick patch if the ground is unsafe.
If a storm makes the fields unusable, we will wait or move the start. You will hear as soon as that call is made.
A booking can be from 1 to 15 riders. Your guide leads the line that goes out with you, so you stay with the people you arrived with.
If two small bookings go out close together, you may still see another group on the same fields. Your briefing and your guide remain your own.
Yes. You put a helmet on at the yard before the machines start. The guide will not send the line out until everyone is wearing one.
Bring a cap or a hair tie if you want something under the helmet. We do not provide goggles as standard, so add your own if you prefer them.
Yes. The trails sit at the foot of the cones, so you ride past them rather than only seeing them from a road. Your guide stops the line when there is a clear view.
How many mounds you pass depends on the ground that day. The hour is spent on those fields, not on a transfer between towns.
