Depending on the location, you may encounter deer, otters, golden eagles, ospreys, red squirrels, pine martens, and various bird species. While wildlife sightings are common, they cannot be guaranteed.
The minimum age for our activities is 12 years old. Children under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Multi-day expeditions are restricted to participants aged 12 and above.
The price includes canoe hire, paddling equipment, guidance from British Canoeing Accredited Guides, wild camping permits (where required), and all necessary safety gear. Personal gear, such as clothing and sleeping bags, is not included.
To book, select your preferred location, fill out the booking request form with your details and preferences, and submit. We will respond with a personalised plan and pricing for you to review and confirm before payment.
Preparation should include physical fitness, familiarity with basic paddling techniques, and outdoor camping skills. We recommend practicing canoeing and camping before the trip, especially for longer expeditions.
Safety is our top priority. All expeditions are led by experienced and qualified guides. We provide safety briefings, continuous risk assessments, first aid kits, and emergency communication devices. Participants must follow the guides' instructions at all times.
Weather can impact expedition routes and schedules. We monitor forecasts closely and may adjust the itinerary for safety. In extreme weather conditions, alternative activities or postponements may be offered.
We have several meeting points that vary based on weather conditions and the chosen launch point. These details are provided upon booking confirmation or can be discussed during the booking process.
The minimum group size for expeditions is 6 paddlers, requiring three tandem canoes. The maximum group size we accommodate is 14 paddlers, which would involve seven tandem canoes.
Solo travellers are more than welcome! We will be able to join you onto an adventure with like-minded paddlers. Equally, if you are looking for a private experience as a group of 6 or more, we can absolutely make that happen.
All necessary paddling equipment, including canoes, paddles, and safety gear, is included in your booking. Personal gear, such as clothing and camping equipment, should be brought by participants. We will be able to tailor your itinerary, so let us know on the booking request form if any adjustments are needed here, and we will do our best to accommodate.
