Combine spring-fed Blue Hole swims with a guided human-chain climb at Dunn's River on one private north-coast day. Pickup runs from Ocho Rios hotels and cruise piers, or from Montego Bay resorts on the west-coast departure option.
Morning starts in the cool hills above Ocho Rios at Blue Hole, where spring-fed pools run an impossible shade of blue. A local guide helps you find safe entry points for swims, rope swings and short cave dips if you want them. The pace suits mixed groups, and you can stay in shallower water while others try the jumps.
After a scenic transfer you reach Dunn's River Falls park. A resident guide briefs you on the beach, then you join the human chain to climb roughly 600 feet of living waterfall. Natural pools offer rest stops, and you may leave the chain early if anyone prefers a shorter finish. Montego Bay departures include a longer coastal drive east before the same waterfall stops.
Blue Hole sits in forested limestone country inland from Ocho Rios, where the air feels cooler than on the beach. Dunn's River flows straight into the Caribbean at Ocho Rios, making it one of the island's best-known waterfall climbs.
Ocho Rios pickups keep driving time short between the two sites. Montego Bay guests travel the north-coast highway through Saint Ann, with optional photo stops your driver can suggest when time allows.
Comfort in deep natural water helps at Blue Hole, and sure footing matters on wet limestone. Water shoes with grip are strongly recommended for both stops.
Reasonable fitness helps on the Dunn's River climb, though guides pace the chain for mixed abilities. Children should stay beside an adult in the pools and on the falls.
Tour Jamaica Today is a north-coast team based in Saint Ann, with drivers who know the Ocho Rios roads, cruise piers, and the trailheads up to Blue Hole and Dunn's River. You travel with the same guide-and-driver crew from lobby or pier pickup through the last swim or climb.
We run these waterfall, river, and ranch days year-round, so we know when ships crowd the coast and which order of stops keeps your group relaxed. Share ages and timing when you book and we will pace the day around you instead of rushing between sites.
Your driver meets you at the hotel lobby or cruise pier and outlines the day. Montego Bay guests enjoy a scenic north-coast drive toward Ocho Rios while Ocho Rios guests head straight for the hills.
Keep water shoes handy so the first swim starts quickly once you reach Blue Hole.
Swim and explore spring-fed pools with optional rope swings and cliff jumps where guides confirm safe lines. The site stays lush and uncrowded compared with busier park attractions.
Allow enough time to dry off before the transfer to the coast for Dunn's River.
Join the human chain to climb the terraced waterfall with resident guides. Rest in natural pools and step out early if anyone prefers a shorter finish on the living rock.
Water shoes are essential on the wet terraces, and your guide will point out the easiest handholds for mixed groups.
Yes. One departure option starts from Montego Bay hotels and includes the same Blue Hole and Dunn's River programme after the coastal drive east through Saint Ann.
Allow a longer morning in the vehicle compared with Ocho Rios pickups, and share your resort name ahead of travel so we can confirm the exact pickup window and return time. Guides on site will point out the easier lines if you want a calmer route, and your driver keeps dry clothes handy in the van between stops.
We usually begin at Blue Hole in the hills, then drive to Dunn's River for the climb. That order keeps the morning playful and finishes on the famous cascade near the coast.
Your driver may swap the sequence if park crowds or ship schedules make it smoother on the day, and they will explain any change before you leave the vehicle. Tell us about kids, non-swimmers, or ship times when you book and we will pace the day around your group.
Park and site fees are typically paid locally unless your confirmation states otherwise. Bring cash for admissions and any optional photographers at Blue Hole who can take shots while you swim.
Your driver can remind you of current fees before each stop so you are not caught short at the gate. Water shoes and a small dry bag make the wet sections much more comfortable once you are off the beach and into the pools.
Water shoes make limestone and terraced rock much safer at both stops. Pack a pair that drains quickly for the pools and the falls climb rather than relying on smooth-soled trainers.
Flip-flops are fine in the van but less secure once rock is wet, so keep proper shoes in your day bag from the first swim. Weather can shift quickly on the north coast, so crews watch river levels and rock grip before they send you onto the next section.
The climb is moderate and you move in a chain with a resident guide who sets the pace. There are pools to rest in and marked exits if you want to finish early without completing the full terrace.
Tell us about mobility concerns ahead of travel so we can allow extra time at the park and choose the calmest part of the day when possible. Your private van stays with your party all day, so you are not juggling bags on a shared coach between the falls and the river.
Families often enjoy this day together because the pools offer shallow areas as well as deeper jumps for confident swimmers. Younger guests should stay with an adult in the water and on the falls.
List ages ahead of travel so we can plan seating, life vests if needed, and a pace that keeps everyone comfortable. Morning pickup from the pier or hotel helps protect your afternoon for swimming, climbing, or the ride back to the ship.
Meals are not included in the standard private rate. There are usually chances to buy snacks near the route or eat a hearty breakfast before pickup depending on your start time.
Bring water and light snacks if you prefer not to stop for food, and mention if you want a dedicated lunch break added to the itinerary. Guides on site will point out the easier lines if you want a calmer route, and your driver keeps dry clothes handy in the van between stops.
Light rain is common in the tropics and the falls still run beautifully, but guides watch river levels and rock safety closely. Activities may be delayed or shortened if conditions become unsafe.
Pack a light rain jacket and keep your phone accessible on travel morning in case the driver sends an updated pickup time. Tell us about kids, non-swimmers, or ship times when you book and we will pace the day around your group.
The van is reserved for your party only, so you will not share transport with unrelated guests. That makes it easier to adjust photo stops or pacing along the north-coast drive.
Share your group size ahead of travel so we can assign transport with enough space for bags and wet gear. Water shoes and a small dry bag make the wet sections much more comfortable once you are off the beach and into the pools.
Wear swimwear under casual clothes so you can walk straight into Blue Hole without a long change stop. Bring a dry shirt for the air-conditioned van between waterfalls.
A small dry bag keeps electronics safe after swimming, and a hat helps during the open sections of the Dunn's River park. Weather can shift quickly on the north coast, so crews watch river levels and rock grip before they send you onto the next section.
