This session is perfect for individuals who are new to eBiking and want to explore the stunning Peak District National Park. With carefully planned routes, these outings are ideal for novice riders who wish to enjoy the countryside without excessive physical exertion. Each route features amazing scenery, gentle terrain, and optional stops at historic or charming local spots.
The Winster Bonsall Easy Loop starts at the Miners Standard in Winster and follows a scenic route through quiet lanes and farm tracks. Riders will travel into the heart of Bonsall village, where they can stop for a coffee at the Fountain Tea Rooms or a beverage at the Barley Mow, famous for hosting the world hen racing championship. The return leg features views of historic lead mine workings, making this an excellent introduction to eBiking for beginners. Covering 8 miles in about 1.5 hours, this route is a gentle and picturesque outing.
The Winster Stanton Easy Rider offers a mix of minor roads and peaceful country lanes, taking riders through villages such as Elton, Youlgreave, and Stanton. Along the way, participants can enjoy breathtaking views of Harthill Moor, explore Robin Hood’s Stride, or take a short detour to visit a Neolithic stone circle. The route includes a refreshment stop in Stanton at the Flying Childers before continuing through Stanton Moor and Birchover, where additional detours are available to visit landmarks such as the Druid Inn. Spanning 10.3 miles over 1.5 hours, this tour is perfect for a relaxed yet engaging ride.
The Around Carsington Easy Beginners Circuit begins at the historic Knockerdown pub, circling Carsington Reservoir on a well-defined and undulating cycle path. Riders will pass the Visitor Centre, the Krugal Stone, and through managed woodlands, with opportunities to observe wildlife and unique wooden sculptures. The route also includes stops in Carsington and Hopton before returning lakeside to the starting point. This 11.1-mile route is a great way to build eBiking confidence, with transportation of bikes included in the price for convenience.
The Ambergate Beginners Circuit combines woodland gravel tracks, minor roads, and a short stint on the Old Derby Road. Starting at the Ambergate hub, the route explores the Derwent Valley Heritage Way, passing scenic spots such as Shottle and Alderwasley Moor. Optional stops include the Bear Inn or the Filling Station Café. The 10-mile circuit is slightly more adventurous than other beginners' options but remains well-suited for novice riders looking to practice their eBiking skills on a mix of surfaces.
The To the Bull & Bear and Back on a Jackass tour is an alternative Ambergate option designed with easier climbs and entirely paved surfaces. The route follows a private track past old industrial sites and through scenic roads leading to the Bear Inn on Alderwasley Moor. Riders can enjoy refreshments before retracing their steps and descending back to the Ambergate hub via Jackass Lane. Covering 8 miles in about 2 hours, this route prioritises ease and comfort for new eBikers.
The Bonsall Off Road Introduction Loop provides a gentle introduction to off-road biking while incorporating minor roads and bridleways. Starting from the Miners Standard, the route leads riders through farm tracks near the hamlet of Ible before descending into Bonsall village. Stops at the Fountain Café or Barley Mow are available, and the return to Winster includes views of lead mine workings. With a total distance of 10 miles over 1.5 hours, this option offers a slightly higher challenge for those with basic cycling experience.
