Take a few unhurried hours at Baldi Hot Springs Resort near Arenal, moving between naturally heated pools, waterfalls, and tropical gardens with the volcano often in view when the sky clears. Your day pass includes access to the resort pools and one meal at the on-site restaurant during the visit window shown when you book.
After you arrive at the resort gate within the check-in time for your visit, staff orient you to the pools and facilities so you can plan how you want to spend your pass, whether that means hotter pools first, garden walks between dips, or saving the restaurant meal for the middle of the visit when appetite builds. You explore at your own pace, choosing pools with different temperatures, pausing at lookout points when Arenal appears above the tree line, and following resort signage for wet tiles, slides, and any areas with depth rules posted for families. Because this is a relaxation day rather than a guided hike, you decide when to shower, when to eat, and how long to linger in each pool as long as you stay inside the hours for your visit.
Your included meal is taken at the resort restaurant during the restaurant service window for your pass, and the team there can usually accommodate common dietary requests when you mention them at seating. We book the pass through the same reservation flow as our guided tours in the area, so your booking, entry time, and meal inclusion stay in one place instead of you hunting for separate arrangements on arrival. Allow a little extra time at the gate during busy holiday weeks, and plan your taxi or rental car return before closing so you are not waiting without signal after a long soak.
Baldi sits in the geothermal valley below Arenal Volcano, a short drive from La Fortuna along roads that local drivers know well. Steam rising from pools and rainforest planting around the terraces make the setting feel unmistakably Arenal even when you are not on a trail that day.
Morning entry often gives the clearest volcano views from upper pools before afternoon cloud builds, which matters if photography is important to you during the visit. Parking is available at the resort, and you should keep valuables out of sight if you leave bags in the vehicle while you are in the water.
No hiking fitness is required, but you should be comfortable walking on wet steps between pools and supervising anyone who needs help in warm mineral water. Bring swimwear, a towel, and sandals with grip for slippery deck areas around the springs.
Contact us before you book if you need wheelchair routing details, because parts of the resort advertise accessible paths while other terraces remain stair-heavy. Lockers or bag storage may be available for a fee depending on resort policy on the day you visit.
We help visitors in La Fortuna pair active volcano days with recovery time, and we issue Baldi passes through our established booking channel so changes and updates follow the same process as our guided outings. Our team knows typical entry queues, meal timing, and how to sequence a hot springs afternoon after a morning hike elsewhere in the region.
When you have questions before travel, you deal with the same local staff who coordinate our tours rather than a distant call centre unfamiliar with Arenal roads and resort gate procedures. We want your pass day to feel straightforward from check-in to meal to final shower before you drive back to town.

Parking is available at the resort; allow extra minutes in peak season for entry queues.
Your pass covers roughly four hours on site within the time window for your visit. You can move between pools at your own pace during that period.
If you want a longer soak, check whether extended rates exist before you travel, as gate staff follow the pass times printed with your booking.
No. You arrange your own taxi, rental car, or shuttle from La Fortuna to Baldi Hot Springs Resort. The resort is a well-known landmark drivers recognise.
Plan your return ride before you enter so you are not waiting without phone signal at closing time, especially on busy weekends.
Your pass includes a meal service at the resort restaurant, usually a set menu or buffet during lunch hours. Details appear after you book.
Mention dietary needs at the restaurant when you are seated; availability varies by day and season, and staff do their best to accommodate common requests.
Swimwear, towel, and sandals for wet areas are essential. Sunscreen and a reusable water bottle help between pools when you are outdoors.
A waterproof pouch for your room key or phone is useful if you move between waterfalls and hotter pools often during the visit.
Children are welcome with adult supervision near water and on steps between pools. Some areas may have depth or slide rules posted on site.
Keep infants within arm's reach in busy pools and ask staff about life jackets if your child is not confident swimming in warm mineral water.
Many guests use lockers or leave bags in designated areas; availability and fees depend on resort policy on the day you visit.
Travel light if you prefer not to pay locker fees, and keep valuables out of sight in parked vehicles in the resort car park.
Light rain rarely stops pool use because water is already warm. Heavy storms may close exposed areas for safety until staff reopen them.
Bring a light cover-up for walking between pools when clouds burst, then return to soaking when showers pass and steam rises again.
Your booking options show date and entry time when you purchase. Arrive within your check-in window to avoid delays at the gate.
Peak holiday weeks fill early; booking ahead secures your preferred morning or afternoon block before daily capacity is reached.
Views of Arenal appear from several pools and lookout points when weather is clear. Cloud cover is common in the afternoon around the volcano.
Morning visits often give the best chance of seeing the cone between soaks, so plan your first hour near upper pools if photography matters to you.
Many travellers pair a morning hike with an afternoon pass or the reverse. Leave realistic travel time between activities because Baldi has no pickup.
Contact the team if you want advice on sequencing this pass with guided tours on the same day without rushing transfers.
