Ride the Atlantic edge of Galicia on an electric bike, with the sea on one side and green headlands on the other. You start in A Guarda and follow the coast towards Baiona on paths that feel open and bright, with the motor taking the strain on any gentle climbs.
After a briefing and bike fitting by the waterfront, you roll out along the Atlantic coast with your guide setting a pace everyone can follow. Photo stops take in cliff views, the Oia Monastery, and the Silleiro Lighthouse, with time to look around without rushing the rest of the group.
You stay on the bikes for the main viewpoints rather than queuing for interior tickets, so bring a little cash or a card if you want to go inside anywhere on your own. The ride loops back towards A Guarda after about four hours at the same meeting area where you started.
A Guarda sits where the Miño meets the Atlantic, with a working harbour, seafood restaurants, and a hilltop castro above the town. Your meeting point is on Avenida Portugal Paseo, an easy walk from the centre and close to coastal bus stops.
The line follows the shore through Oia and towards Baiona, one of the classic Rías Baixas landscapes where forest, cliff, and open water sit side by side. Shared paths, sea breeze, and other walkers are part of the morning, so attention at crossings still matters even with motor assistance.
Every rider should be comfortable handling a bicycle on shared paths and light traffic, including braking when the surface is damp. The motor helps on gentle rises, but you still steer and balance a bike that weighs around twenty kilograms.
Riders need to be at least 1.55 metres tall for the frames we use. We recommend age twelve and above for this coastal route.
Groups stay at fifteen riders or fewer, which keeps the convoy manageable on coastal paths and leaves room for questions at each stop. Helmets and locks are included, and the briefing is a proper fitting rather than a rushed send-off.
This is the straightforward way to see the Atlantic Rías Baixas on two wheels without turning the morning into a hard climb session. You get monastery and lighthouse views, sea air, and a route that suits riders who want scenery with light effort.
Plan for about four hours from the fitting in A Guarda to the return along the same waterfront. That includes the ride along the Atlantic coast, photo stops, and time outside the Oia Monastery and Silleiro Lighthouse viewpoints.
Start times are shown on the booking calendar. Arrive a few minutes early so helmets and saddle height are set before you join the coastal path. The pace stays conversational because you share the route with walkers and other cyclists.
This is a guided shared outing with up to fifteen riders in the group, including your own party. Solo travellers and pairs are welcome, and the guide keeps the line together at crossings and photo stops.
A private version may appear separately on the calendar when it is available for your dates. Group and private products are priced differently when both are listed.
You meet on Avenida Portugal Paseo in A Guarda, postcode 36789. The town sits on the Atlantic at the mouth of the Miño, with bus links along the coast and parking nearby if you arrive by car.
Transport to the meeting point is not included in the price. Closed-toe shoes from the moment you arrive save time at the briefing, and it is worth allowing a little extra time in summer when the waterfront gets busy.
We recommend riders aged twelve and above who are at least 1.55 metres tall. The electric bikes weigh around twenty kilograms, so everyone needs enough strength to steady the bike at stops and on gentle slopes.
Anyone under eighteen needs an adult on the same booking. The coastal path suits riders who are already comfortable on a bicycle rather than someone on their very first ride.
The price covers a guided ride of about four hours, an e-bike for each rider, a helmet, and a lock. Fitting and a short safety briefing happen before you leave the meeting area.
Meals, drinks, and personal travel insurance are extra. Phone mounts and baby carriers are available for a small extra charge on the day. The monastery and lighthouse stops are from the outside unless you choose to buy your own entry tickets separately.
The route follows the Atlantic shore from A Guarda towards Baiona, with stops for views at the Oia Monastery and Silleiro Lighthouse. You ride on coastal paths and quieter lanes rather than through motorway traffic.
The electric motor helps on any gentle rises so you can focus on the sea and the headlands. The guide sets a steady pace suited to the group and the path conditions on the day.
Comfortable clothes and closed-toe shoes with a firm sole are the basics. Skip flip-flops. A light wind layer helps when the Atlantic breeze picks up along the cliffs.
Bring water, sunscreen, and a small bag that stays secure on your back. Loose scarves and long hems are awkward around chains and pedals. Sunglasses are useful on bright days above the water.
Light rain and Atlantic mist are common in Galicia and the ride usually still goes ahead. Keep speeds modest on damp paths, follow the guide's line, and wear a waterproof so you stay comfortable at the viewpoints.
Strong wind, storms, or unsafe conditions on the coastal path can mean the outing is rescheduled. Your guide will agree another date with you when that happens.
You do not need racing fitness or road cycling experience. The electric motor takes the effort out of the gentle rises along the coast, and the guide keeps a relaxed pace that matches the group.
You should already feel steady steering and braking on a bike. Shared paths, sea breeze, and other walkers are part of the morning, so calm attention at crossings matters more than leg power.
Yes, within the fifteen-rider cap and the height rule, with an adult on the booking for anyone under eighteen. The coastal path is a calmer setting than a busy city centre, though walkers and other cyclists still share the route.
The guide keeps the group together and chooses wider sections where younger riders need a little more room.
