Session Breakdown

As you arrive at the chosen abseiling venue in the Lake District, you’ll be welcomed by our experienced guides and instructors. The day begins with a warm and friendly introduction to the activity, where you’ll learn about the basics of abseiling and what to expect.

After the initial briefing, you’ll be provided with all the necessary abseiling equipment, including harnesses, ropes, and safety gear. Our guides will ensure that all equipment is properly fitted and secure, prioritising your safety throughout the experience.

Next, it’s time to venture to the cliff face or chosen abseiling location. Along the way, you’ll have the opportunity to soak in the stunning natural surroundings of the Lake District, enhancing your anticipation and excitement. Once at the location, you’ll receive in-depth instruction on abseiling techniques, including how to control your descent speed and handle the equipment effectively.

With your newfound skills, you’ll have the exhilarating opportunity to step back over the edge and begin your descent down the cliff face. Our guides are close at hand the whole time to ensure your safety and provide guidance as needed. And what do you do when you’ve done it? Do it again!

The day is designed to be a thrilling and memorable adventure, and our team is dedicated to making it a safe, enjoyable, and unforgettable experience for all participants.

The Lake District offers a variety of stunning abseiling venues, each easily accessible with minimal walking from parking areas.

We can agree on your venue and meeting point upon booking. This can be based on your prior experience (if you have any), what you want to get out of the experience, and where you are based or staying.

Frequently Asked Questions

These half or full days require a reasonable level of general fitness. It’s not all about upper body strength, most climbing actually comes from the legs, so doesn’t need to be tiring, honest! Arriving at the crags does require some uphill walking too – think of it as a warm-up!

This is flexible and will be to suit you. We often meet clients in Ambleside, or if you’re staying nearby we may arrange to meet at your accommodation.

Yes. Please bring at least one litre of water per person and a packed lunch & snacks. During the cooler months you may wish to bring a flask of something hot: tea / coffee / hot chocolate / hot juice all work well.

  • Warm clothing
  • Walking boots / sturdy footwear
  • Packed lunch & snacks
  • Water – at least 1 litre
  • Backpack suitable for carrying the above kit
