This five-day multisport experience offers an active way to explore the Galapagos Islands, combining land and sea adventures with time to take in the unique wildlife. Based on Isabela Island, the trip blends guided excursions with opportunities to experience different environments, from volcanic landscapes to coastal waters.
Each day introduces a new activity, including hiking, biking, snorkelling, and kayaking. Along the way, you’ll encounter a wide variety of wildlife, from giant tortoises and marine iguanas to sea lions and tropical fish. The itinerary is designed to keep things varied while allowing time to rest and enjoy the surroundings.
Trips are designed with a strong focus on creating meaningful travel experiences that balance activity, comfort, and local connection. By combining multiple activities into one itinerary, you get a broader understanding of the islands without feeling rushed. Experienced guides ensure each activity is well organised and suited to your ability.
A commitment to responsible travel runs throughout the experience, with efforts made to protect the natural environment and support local communities. Working closely with local guides and small businesses helps create a more personal experience while ensuring your visit contributes positively to the region.

Your journey begins with arrival at Baltra Airport, where you’ll be met and transferred towards Puerto Ayora. After time for lunch, you’ll board a public speedboat to Isabela Island. The crossing can be lively depending on sea conditions, so it’s worth preparing for a potentially wet ride.
On arrival, you’ll be taken to your accommodation before heading out to visit Flamingo Lagoon. This is a relaxed introduction to the island, offering the chance to spot flamingos in their natural habitat before settling in for the evening.

After breakfast, you’ll travel inland to begin your hike to Sierra Negra Volcano. The journey starts with a drive before continuing on foot towards one of the largest volcanic craters in the world. The trail offers wide views across the volcanic landscape, with time to pause and take in the surroundings.
Following the hike and a break for lunch, the afternoon shifts to the coast for snorkelling at Concha Perla. Calm waters make it an ideal place to observe marine life, including fish, sea lions, and turtles, offering a contrast to the morning’s inland scenery.

The day begins with a cycling route across Isabela Island, taking you to the giant tortoise breeding centre and the historic Wall of Tears. This route combines wildlife encounters with a look into the island’s past, all set within a quiet, open landscape.
Later in the day, you’ll head out by boat to Tintoreras Islet. Here, you’ll walk among marine iguanas and observe white-tip reef sharks resting in shallow channels. Snorkelling provides the chance to swim alongside fish and other marine species in clear waters.

Starting at the coast, you’ll take to the water by kayak, exploring the shoreline around Puerto Villamil. This is a good opportunity to spot marine iguanas, sea lions, and even penguins as you move quietly through the bay.
In the afternoon, the focus shifts inland again with a biking route into the highlands. Stops include viewpoints and lava formations, as well as areas where giant tortoises can be seen in their natural habitat. The mix of coastal and inland environments gives a well-rounded view of the island.

An early start sees you travelling back by speedboat to Santa Cruz Island. A packed breakfast is provided for the journey, allowing you to make the most of the morning transfer.
On arrival, you’ll continue by road to Baltra Airport for your departure, marking the end of the experience.
You’ll spend four nights on Isabela Island in comfortable accommodation based on single, double, or triple rooms, depending on your group. Rooms include private bathrooms and provide a convenient base for daily activities.
The accommodation is located close to the main town area, making it easy to access nearby beaches, restaurants, and departure points for excursions. It offers a relaxed setting to unwind after each day’s activities while still having essential comforts in place.
This experience is designed for travellers who enjoy staying active, with a mix of hiking, biking, kayaking, and snorkelling spread across the five days. While none of the activities are extreme on their own, the combination means you’ll be moving most days.
The pace is balanced with rest periods and travel time, making it manageable for those with a moderate level of fitness. Guides adjust the pace where needed to ensure everyone can take part comfortably.
No specialist experience is required for most activities, as they are designed to be accessible. Basic swimming ability is important for snorkelling, and confidence on a bike will help during cycling sections.
Guides provide instructions and support throughout, ensuring you feel comfortable before starting each activity. If needed, you can take things at your own pace or opt out of certain parts.
The Galapagos Islands are known for their diverse wildlife, and this tour offers opportunities to see many species. You may encounter sea lions, marine iguanas, giant tortoises, reef fish, and even penguins.
Snorkelling and kayaking provide close-up views of marine life, while hikes and bike rides allow you to see animals in their natural habitat on land. Sightings vary but are frequent throughout the trip.
Transfers between islands are done using public speedboats, which can be affected by sea conditions. At times, the journey may feel rough or wet, so it’s important to be prepared.
Bringing a waterproof jacket and motion sickness tablets is recommended. While the crossings can be lively, they are a standard and reliable way to travel between the islands.
Packing for a mix of activities means bringing both land and water gear. Lightweight clothing, swimwear, and comfortable shoes are essential, along with sun protection.
It’s also useful to bring a waterproof layer for boat journeys and a small backpack for daily use. Keeping items compact will make transfers between locations easier.
The experience can be suitable for younger travellers, especially those who enjoy outdoor activities. The variety of activities helps keep things interesting, and wildlife encounters are often a highlight for families.
However, the pace and travel between islands should be considered. Parents should ensure children are comfortable with the schedule and able to participate in the activities involved.
Accommodation is comfortable and practical, offering private bathrooms and a good base for the trip. It is not luxury-focused but provides everything needed after a day of activities.
Being based in one location for four nights allows you to settle in and avoid frequent packing. This makes the experience more relaxed despite the active itinerary.
