Women-only hiking clubs and adventure communities are a strong choice if you want ongoing connection, repeat trips, and a dedicated space to build confidence. This guide is for a different moment: you are solo this weekend, visiting Devon, Dorset or Cornwall, or you want one booked adventure without a membership.
You have two useful paths on adventuro. Book a women-only day if you want a female-guided group from the start. Or book an open or social session: one space online, turn up, meet your guide and the rest of the group, kit included. Centres expect single-space bookings on those formats. You are not joining a private stag or birthday party by accident.

The easy start
West Molesey on the non-tidal Thames is flat, guided, and close to London. A 2-hour social paddling session puts you in a small group with a qualified guide. Choose kayak or SUP. No prior experience required. Sessions run Fridays. From £35.
Social sessions are built for people arriving alone or in pairs. The pace is relaxed, the water is calm, and you are not the only person who booked a single space. Best first option if you want flat water before coasteering or a Devon full day.

The Jurassic coast
Dancing Ledge near Swanage on the Jurassic Coast is Dorset coasteering: scrambling, swimming, and optional cliff jumps with a qualified guide. An open session means you book one space and join others on the same tide slot. Wetsuit, helmet, and buoyancy aid included. From £50. Minimum age 14+.
Guides use a challenge by choice approach: you participate at your comfort level. You are never navigating the coastline alone.
Best for: Confident swimmers booking alone who want a half-day Jurassic Coast hit.
When to go: April to October. Tide-dependent: confirm meeting time after booking.

The harbour jump
Mousehole Harbour near Penzance is a west Cornwall launch point for an open group coasteering session: cliff jumps, sea swims, caves, and gullies with experienced guides. All kit included from £50. Free photography is included. The experience welcomes solo adventurers.
Mousehole suits a Cornwall trip base around Penzance or St Ives. It is not a same-day run from London: plan overnight.
Best for: Solo bookers (ages 10+) who want west Cornwall coasteering with photos included.

Solo female adventure FAQs
Do I need a women-only group to feel safe outdoors?
No, but it is a valid choice. Women-only clubs suit long-term community. Open sessions suit a single booked adventure with a guide and kit included, and women-only day sessions come up on the Devon coast from time to time, so it is worth checking current sea kayaking trips if that is what you want.
Can I book these experiences as one person?

Will I be the only person who booked alone?
