What is BORDA?
The British Off Road Driving Association (BORDA) sets standards for professional off-road driver training in the UK. Accredited providers deliver courses for recreational drivers, fleet operators and specialists working with all-terrain vehicles on challenging ground.
Awards progress from foundation skills through Standard and Higher levels, covering vehicle control, route planning, environmental impact and recovery. BORDA also recognises ATV-specific training for riders using quad bikes and similar machines in agricultural, estate and adventure settings.

Choosing a course
Standard Level suits drivers who want confident 4x4 skills for work or leisure on varied terrain. ATV training is specific to quad bikes and requires a different licence and risk profile; book the course that matches the machine you will use.
Some courses use centre vehicles; others expect you to bring a suitable 4x4. Check licence requirements, maximum group size and whether the day is training or assessment only. Leave a comment when you book if you need BORDA certification for an employer or land access agreement.
Official standards
Training standards and accredited centre lists are published by BORDA at borda.org.uk. Your provider confirms vehicle requirements, course level and assessment when you book.
