What is the BKSA?
The British Kitesurfing Association (BKSA) promotes safe kitesurfing through recognised training centres and a structured instructor pathway. BKSA schools deliver beginner lessons, improver sessions and professional instructor training aligned to national standards.
Instructor qualifications combine riding ability, rescue skills, teaching practice and theory. The BKSA Instructor Training Course is the gateway for experienced kiters who want to teach at BKSA-recognised schools in the UK and abroad.

Choosing a course
Instructor courses expect confident upwind riding, solid rescue technique and experience in the conditions you will teach. If you are still learning, book improver lessons first rather than an instructor course you are not ready to pass.
Tide, wind and beach space dictate scheduling at coastal schools. Check whether the course includes BKSA membership, equipment for teaching practice and assessment fees. Leave a comment when you book with your riding level and whether you need help meeting prerequisites.
