Dartmoor weaseling is an engaging outdoor adventure designed for anyone aged 6 and above. You will navigate through tunnels, low obstacles, and natural features while testing agility, balance, and coordination in a safe, supervised environment. The session finishes with hot chocolate and marshmallows, making it a fun and rewarding experience for all.
During the half-day session, you will move through a variety of obstacles, including tunnels, wooden structures, and natural terrain features that challenge your balance and coordination. The activity is playful and encourages problem-solving, spatial awareness, and teamwork, while giving you the freedom to move at your own pace. Instructors provide guidance and support throughout, ensuring you can enjoy the activity safely and confidently.
The course is designed to run all year round and is not dependent on weather, although you should expect to get wet or muddy at times. After completing the course, you will gather to enjoy a warm treat of hot chocolate and marshmallows, providing a relaxed moment to celebrate your achievements and share experiences with others.
Sessions start and finish at Dartmoor Activity Centre, with access to a mix of woodland and open moorland. The terrain features a variety of natural obstacles and tunnels, providing both challenging and fun experiences for different ages and abilities. Locations are selected for safety, accessibility, and the opportunity to navigate through varied landscapes while enjoying Dartmoor’s scenic beauty.
Nearby areas include sheltered woodland for younger participants or those preferring less exposure, as well as more open moorland for adventurous participants who enjoy testing balance and coordination on uneven terrain. Instructors adapt the course to the natural features available on the day to ensure safety while maximising engagement.
No previous experience is required. Participants should wear clothing suitable for outdoor activity, including waterproofs and sturdy footwear that can get muddy or wet.
Bringing a change of clothes is recommended. Personal belongings, snacks, and drinks are not included, though hot chocolate and marshmallows are provided at the end of the session.
