Prerequisites

  • At least 17 years old.
  • Registered on the Lowland Leader scheme – we can help with this.
  • You must have recorded a minimum of 10 varied walks in Lowland terrain where the use of a map is required (ideally these will be recorded on DLOG) which can have taken place at any point (pre- or post-registration).

The training lasts for 2 days and is run by approved providers in various lowland areas across the UK or Ireland. The course is designed to be interactive and engaging, providing participants with a comprehensive understanding of lowland walking leadership.

Accommodation is not included in this course. However, it can be arranged upon request and subject to availablity. The majority of our bedrooms sleep between 3 to 4 in bunk beds in each room. Sheets, duvets and pillows are provided. All rooms are en-suite.

Upon completing the training, participants are eligible to book onto the Lowland Leader Award assessment. We offer the assessment at our centre. Check it out at the bottom of this page.
