Our course takes place in the scenic Queen Elizabeth Country Park near Petersfield, offering a variety of terrain perfect for practicing jumps and drops.

In the Jumps and Drops course, you will learn a variety of skills crucial for mastering airborne techniques. These include the basics of manuals and bunny hops, perfecting the approach, take-off, and landing of jumps and drops, improving your line choice and trail reading up to each feature, getting the correct amount of ‘pop’ for each jump, techniques for navigating table tops, preparing for landings and transitioning smoothly to subsequent features, and controlling and maintaining your speed throughout. Safety is our top priority. We start with small, manageable features and only progress to larger ones when you’re ready. Our coaches are experienced and qualified, providing constant supervision and guidance. We maintain a low student-to-coach ratio to ensure personalised attention. Additionally, we conduct a safety briefing before the course, cover proper protective gear usage, and teach techniques specifically designed to minimize the risk of injury. Participants are also required to have a baseline level of fitness and mountain biking experience as prerequisites for joining the course.

Yes, you can still participate! While we recommend using your own mountain bike for the best learning experience, we understand that’s not always possible. We have a partnership with Southern E-bikes, offering a 10% discount on bike hires. Use the code BTM10 when hiring a bike. This way, you can still enjoy the course with a quality mountain bike suitable for jumps and drops.

Mountain biking is an outdoor sport, and we’re used to adapting to weather conditions. If the weather is mildly inclement, like light rain, the course usually proceeds with some adjustments for safety. However, in the case of severe weather conditions that pose a risk, such as heavy rain, storms, or high winds, we will reschedule the course for a later date. We prioritise the safety and comfort of our participants and will communicate any changes in schedule due to weather as early as possible.

The age limit for the Jumps and Drops mountain biking course is set at a minimum of 18 years. This ensures that participants have the necessary maturity and physical capabilities to safely handle the challenges of the course. However, an exception is made for younger enthusiasts aged 15 and over, on the condition that they are accompanied by an adult who is also participating in the course.
