What to Expect
Upon arrival, you'll meet on the shores of Derwentwater around 45 minutes before sunset. This allows time to prepare and soak in the surroundings as you get ready for a refreshing swim in the lake. With a coach guiding the group, you’ll head out into the calm waters as the orange hues of the sunset behind Catbells and Grizedale Pike are replaced by the cool light of the full moon. The swim lasts for 90 minutes, providing ample time to enjoy the serenity of the water under the moonlight.
After the swim, the group will gather around for a hearty meal, including hot soup and sandwiches. While enjoying the food, you’ll have the chance to reflect on the swim and enjoy the sight of the moon glistening on the water and lighting up the surrounding fellsides. If you're bringing friends or family who prefer to stay on land, they are welcome to join you for the barbecue, making for a social evening on the lakeshore.
