Spend an enriching afternoon on the water, learning about Ibiza’s underwater world while sharing new experiences as a family. Activities are designed to build confidence in open water for children and adults alike, combining guided snorkelling, interactive games, and practical marine education. Expect a safe, engaging, and playful environment that encourages curiosity, exploration, and family bonding.
The trip starts at the harbour, where the crew welcomes you and provides a brief, lively presentation about the marine life you will encounter. Children and adults learn about octopus, starfish, sea urchins, rainbow wrasse, and Neptune grass, gaining practical knowledge about the Balearic Sea’s ecosystems. This sets the stage for hands-on experiences that combine learning and fun.
You’ll cruise to a carefully selected snorkelling site, anchoring in rocky and seaweed areas at around 20 feet depth. Here, the crew helps you fit masks, snorkels, and life vests as needed. Guided snorkelling ensures everyone can explore confidently, even if your only experience has been a swimming pool. The design of the site and guidance strategy encourages children and parents to overcome fears while feeling a sense of achievement.
While exploring the water, paddle boards are available for those who want to mix activities or prefer to stay partially above water. Onboard, a chef prepares a delicious paella and seasonal fruit platter while you swim, snorkel, or relax. Children enjoy an interactive treasure hunt led by Pirate Morgan, turning learning and movement into playful discovery. The trip concludes with a recap from the lead guide and reflection on the day’s discoveries, leaving families with lasting memories of shared achievements.
Trips depart from San Antonio Harbour and Port d’es Torrent, areas known for easy sea access and calm conditions. You’ll spend most of your time around the Natural Reserve of Conejera Island or sheltered bays nearby, depending on conditions. These areas offer clear visibility and diverse habitats that support hands-on learning without feeling challenging or intimidating.
Anchoring typically takes place in around 20 feet of water above seagrass fields and rocky outcrops that attract a wide range of species. These carefully chosen spots make it easy for beginners to adjust to natural underwater environments. Clear seabeds, slow-moving schools of fish and thoughtful guidance create an environment ideal for parents introducing children to the sea for the first time.
No swimming skills are required for participation. Life vests, masks, snorkels, and flotation devices are provided, and every participant is individually checked by the crew before entering the water. Children and adults alike can move at their own pace, building comfort and confidence in open water.
Families with children of all ages are encouraged to take part. Crew members are trained to support nervous participants, creating a safe, calm environment while fostering curiosity, achievement, and enjoyment for all family members.

Decades of experience with the sea shape every aspect of the trip. The founder, born in Ibiza, combined a childhood spent snorkelling, hunting octopus, and exploring marine habitats with an international career in finance. Meet the Sea was created in 2020 to reconnect families with the ocean, encourage hands-on learning, and help children gain confidence and curiosity away from screens.
Small-group tours ensure each family receives personal guidance in a calm, safe environment. Activities focus on open-water confidence, marine education, and playful discovery, avoiding crowded or party-boat atmospheres. The team also designs trips for school groups and is developing corporate sessions centred on sustainability, teamwork, and stress management.
