Explore the clear waters of North Sardinia on a relaxed catamaran outing designed for small groups. This experience offers time to swim, unwind, and enjoy an aperitif on board while taking in the natural beauty of the islands.
Your time on the water begins with a gentle departure from Porto Pozzo, heading towards the islands of the La Maddalena Archipelago. As you move away from the mainland, the water becomes noticeably clearer, and the route opens up to a series of islands and quiet bays. The skipper will choose the most suitable locations on the day, taking into account sea conditions to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience.
Throughout the trip, there will be stops in sheltered coves where you can enter the water for a swim or snorkel. These areas are known for their calm conditions and good visibility, making them ideal for simply floating, exploring beneath the surface, or cooling off between time spent on deck. Snorkelling equipment is available on board, so you can make the most of each stop without needing to bring your own.
As the experience continues, you’ll be served a Sardinian-style aperitif with drinks, giving you time to relax and enjoy the surroundings from the comfort of the boat. The atmosphere remains easy-going, with space to stretch out, take photos, or sit back and enjoy the views as you move between locations before returning to the starting point.
This experience departs from Porto Pozzo, a peaceful coastal area located close to Palau in North Sardinia. The setting offers direct access to the La Maddalena Archipelago without the need to pass through busy harbours, allowing for a smoother start to the trip. The surrounding coastline features a mix of rocky formations and small sandy inlets, many of which are only accessible by boat.
The La Maddalena Archipelago is a protected marine park made up of several islands, each with its own character. Areas such as Spargi and Budelli are known for their clear, shallow waters and quiet anchor points. Travelling by catamaran allows you to reach these locations comfortably, while enjoying a different perspective of the coastline throughout the journey.
No previous experience is required to take part in this activity. The environment on board is relaxed, and the route is chosen to suit general conditions on the day. Participants should feel comfortable being on the water and able to get in and out of the sea using the boat’s access points if they wish to swim.
You’ll need to bring swimwear, a towel, sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat for sun protection. A light jacket or windbreaker is recommended, particularly outside of the warmer months or during breezier conditions. Comfortable footwear such as flip-flops or soft-soled shoes is suitable for use on board.
The focus is on keeping each trip personal and uncrowded, with a maximum of eight guests on board. This allows for a more comfortable experience where everyone has space to relax, move around freely, and enjoy each stop without feeling restricted by larger group sizes.
Routes are planned with a local understanding of the area, helping to reach quieter bays and avoid busier sections of the archipelago. The overall pace is unhurried, giving you time to fully enjoy swimming spots, take in the scenery, and make the most of your time on the water.
It’s best to come prepared for time in the sun and on the water. Swimwear should be worn under your clothes or packed for easy changing, and a towel is essential for drying off after swimming. Sun protection is important, so bring sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat to stay comfortable throughout the trip.
A light jacket or windbreaker is recommended, especially outside peak summer months, as it can feel cooler when the boat is moving. Footwear should be simple and easy to remove, such as flip-flops or boat-friendly shoes. While snorkelling equipment is available, you are welcome to bring your own if you prefer using familiar gear.
Yes, non-swimmers are welcome to join and can still enjoy the full experience from the boat. The catamaran provides a stable and comfortable space where you can relax, take in the surroundings, and enjoy the aperitif without needing to enter the water.
If you’d like to get in the water but are not confident swimming, it’s worth letting the skipper know in advance. They can advise on the safest way to enter the water and remain close to the boat. However, there is no requirement to swim, and many guests choose to simply enjoy the views from onboard.
The number of stops can vary depending on sea conditions and the route selected on the day. Typically, there will be a few carefully chosen locations where the boat anchors, giving you the opportunity to swim, snorkel, or relax.
Each stop is selected for its calm waters and overall suitability, rather than following a fixed schedule. This flexible approach allows the experience to adapt to conditions, ensuring that each stop feels worthwhile and enjoyable rather than rushed.
The aperitif includes a selection of Sardinian-style snacks paired with drinks. These are chosen to be light and enjoyable while out on the water, allowing you to relax and take in the surroundings at the same time.
Drinks are served chilled, and the food is prepared to reflect local flavours. The focus is on keeping things simple and enjoyable, providing a break during the trip where you can sit back and enjoy the atmosphere on board.
Yes, there is shaded space available on the catamaran, allowing you to take a break from direct sunlight when needed. This is especially useful during warmer days when you may want to cool down between swims.
At the same time, there are open areas where you can sit or lie in the sun if you prefer. This mix of shaded and open space gives you flexibility throughout the trip to stay comfortable.
The departure point is located in Porto Pozzo, close to Palau in North Sardinia. It is accessible by car, and there are parking options available nearby, making it convenient if you are travelling independently.
If you are staying in surrounding areas, it’s worth planning your route in advance to allow enough time for arrival. Public transport options may be limited, so checking travel arrangements ahead of time is recommended.
