Thailand
Thailand spans forested northern highlands, broad central river plains and two distinct tropical coastlines along the Gulf of Thailand and the Andaman Sea. Elevation and climate vary significantly by region, creating different seasonal windows for land and water activity. The north provides the country’s strongest trekking and mountain terrain, with cooler temperatures at altitude. Central regions are largely flat and river-based, while the southern coasts offer limestone cliffs, coral reefs and warm tropical water suited to sailing, diving, sea kayaking and climbing. Monsoon systems influence wind, swell and rainfall differently on each coast, allowing year-round adventure travel when planned by region and season. Thailand supports a wide range of activities, from jungle trekking and road cycling in the hills to world-class limestone climbing and tropical island diving.
