Mediterranean winters in the north, Atlantic trade-wind summers along the west, and arid continental conditions inland. Geographically split between the High Atlas (4 000 m snow in winter), the Sahara dune seas, and Atlantic reef-break coastlines. Popular sports include winter ski-touring on Jebel Toubkal, spring trekking across Berber valleys, limestone sport climbing in Todra and Tafraout, desert fat-biking or 4×4 routes in Erg Chebbi, and year-round surf and kitesurf at Taghazout or Dakhla.
