Experience one of Cornwall’s most action-packed coastal activities by combining guided coasteering with high-speed jet ski rescue sled rides around the Newquay coastline. Mixing cliff jumping, wild swimming, sea caves and moving water with professional jet ski towing techniques, this session delivers a completely different way to explore the coast.
The adventure begins at the harbour base with introductions, equipment fitting and a detailed safety briefing before entering the water to begin the coasteering route. Instructors explain movement techniques, safety systems and how the jet ski rescue sled experience operates before the group heads out along the coastline.
Throughout the session, participants work their way through sections of coast using a mixture of wild swimming, scrambling, climbing, caving and cliff jumping. The route is adapted around conditions and group confidence levels while guides help participants safely navigate moving water, rocky terrain and natural coastal obstacles along the way.
As part of the experience, participants pair up before being introduced to the Hawaiian-style rescue sled system attached to the Yamaha WaveRunner jet ski. After learning how to hold the sled safely, pairs are taken on high-speed rescue sled rides between sections of the route. Depending on individual preferences and conditions, rides may include fast acceleration, sweeping turns, swell riding and coastal exploration around areas such as Towan Head and nearby coves often inaccessible from land. The rides are timed carefully so participants can rejoin the coasteering route without missing major sections of the adventure.
Launching from Newquay Harbour provides quick access to varied sections of coastline ideal for both coasteering and jet ski rescue sled operations. The surrounding area includes rocky inlets, caves, swell channels and open Atlantic water well suited for adventurous coastal sessions.
The coastline around Towan Head and Newquay Bay also offers opportunities to explore areas rarely seen from land while remaining close to the harbour facilities and support team.
No previous coasteering or jet ski experience is required before joining the session, although participants should feel comfortable within open water environments and capable of following safety instructions throughout the activity.
The session can be adapted to different confidence levels, with instructors adjusting jumps, routes and ride styles depending on the group.
Using years of coasteering, rescue and watersports experience, the instructor team combines technical coastal guiding with professional rescue sled operation to create a unique multi-activity adventure along the Newquay coastline. Safety systems and session pacing are designed to keep the experience exciting while remaining approachable for a wide range of participants.
