The focus is on body positioning, cornering, braking, and pumping, all taught through interactive games and activities. You will gradually build your skills while enjoying a ride through the scenic Westerntown woodlands, a great way to develop your bike handling on natural trails.
The atmosphere is relaxed and inclusive, allowing everyone to learn at their own pace while having fun with others. Whether you're riding on flat trails or navigating gentle inclines, you'll have the chance to put your new skills into practice, building both confidence and enjoyment on your bike.
The sessions take place at Deeside Activity Park, located just outside Aboyne. This scenic location is ideal for mountain biking, offering a variety of natural trails in the nearby Westerntown woodlands.
The area is known for its peaceful surroundings, providing the perfect backdrop for building new biking skills. You’ll have access to the purpose-built bike hub, which is fully equipped for all your biking needs.
These sessions are aimed at beginners and require no previous mountain biking experience. Participants should have a basic level of fitness and be comfortable riding a bike.

Chris and Kirsten, the instructors for these sessions, bring a wealth of experience and passion to each class. Chris holds several qualifications in sports coaching and mountain biking, including international certifications and a degree in Sports Science. Kirsten, with her years of biking experience and qualifications from British Cycling, has a deep love for sharing her knowledge with others. Her friendly and approachable nature makes her a great instructor, especially for those new to mountain biking. Together, they are dedicated to creating a supportive and fun atmosphere for young riders, helping them develop confidence and skills that will last a lifetime.
