Cool maritime west, continental interior and high-arctic north. Fjords, granite/alpine peaks and wide mountain plateaux (Hardangervidda, Finnmarksvidda) define the landscape. Activities include ski-mountaineering and cross-country touring (Easter hut weeks), summer ridge hiking and scrambling on Trolltunga/Kjerag, sea-kayaking and sailing the fjords, steep couloir downhill/MTB in Romsdal, and cold-water surfing in Lofoten.
