Bulgaria
Bulgaria is defined by mountain terrain, with the Rila, Pirin and Balkan ranges creating sustained alpine environments across much of the country. These higher elevations support multi-day trekking, ridge traverses, mountaineering and winter ski touring, with reliable snowfall in colder months. Beyond the mountains, rolling uplands, river valleys and the Danube plain offer gravel cycling and long-distance hiking routes. The Black Sea coastline provides warmer summer conditions for sailing and wind-based water sports.
