Alpine climate in the west/central, continental east. Dominated by the Eastern Alps, Danube valley and limestone karst highlands. Sports: glacier and freeride skiing (Stubai, Arlberg), alpine climbing and via-ferrata, Danube cycle touring, white-water kayaking on the Salzach and Inn, and paragliding in the Tyrol.
