## FAQs

### Do I need any prior experience in yoga or paddleboarding?

No experience is required at all. These sessions are designed to be beginner-friendly, with full instruction provided throughout. Before we get on the water, you’ll receive a safety briefing and a short introduction to paddleboarding, including how to balance, paddle, and anchor your board. During the yoga session, all poses are explained clearly, with plenty of options to adjust to your own comfort level—whether you're just starting out or have been practising for years.

### What should I wear for SUP Yoga at the lido?

You can practise in a bathing costume or lightweight gym wear that dries quickly, such as leggings and a fitted sports top. Avoid anything too loose, as it may become uncomfortable if wet. If it’s a hot day, a hat and suncream are recommended; if it’s cooler, bring some extra layers to stay warm before and after your session. It’s a good idea to bring at least two swimsuits so you can change into a dry one afterwards, along with a towel and warm clothing.

### Will I fall in the water?

There’s always a chance you might fall in—it’s part of the fun! But you’ll be in a heated pool with a supportive, calm environment and a qualified instructor right there to guide and assist. Most participants manage to stay on their board for the entire session, but if you do slip in, it’s perfectly safe and easy to climb back on. We encourage a relaxed, non-judgemental atmosphere where falling in is just part of the experience.

### Is there a minimum swimming ability required?

Yes. All participants must be able to swim at least 50 metres unaided. While you’ll be on a board throughout the session and the pool is a controlled environment, this minimum ability is essential for your safety. The lido team and your instructor are also trained in open water safety, so you’ll always be well looked after.

### What’s the difference between this and open water SUP Yoga?

The lido offers a more controlled setting—there’s no boat traffic, no current, and the heated pool ensures a more comfortable experience regardless of the weather. It’s an excellent option for those new to paddleboarding or yoga, or anyone who prefers a quieter, more stable environment. You’ll still get all the benefits of practising yoga on a floating board, including improved balance, core strength, and mental focus.

### Do you have a minimum number of participants for this session?

Yes – we usually require a minimum of 2 people for this session to go ahead. If you're booking solo, don’t worry. We’ll get in touch to discuss options and do our best to join you up with another group or an existing session that suits your availability.
