### What is the duration of the course?

The RYA Youth Sailing Stage 2 course lasts for 2 days, with each day running from 09:30 to 16:00. During this time, participants will have plenty of hands-on sailing practice, learning key skills such as tacking, gybing, and improving boat control.

### What is the age requirement for the course?

The course is designed for children aged 8 to 15 years old. Participants must be at least 8 years old to attend, and the course caters to children within this age group to ensure age-appropriate instruction and activities.

### What sailing experience do participants need before starting this course?

Participants should have completed the RYA Youth Sailing Scheme Stage 1 or have equivalent sailing experience. This includes basic knowledge of how to sail and handle a boat. If your child has already gained some sailing experience but hasn't officially completed Stage 1, they should be confident with basic sailing techniques before starting this course.

### What should my child bring to the course?

Participants should bring weather-appropriate clothing that they don't mind getting wet, non-slip footwear suitable for water activities, a packed lunch, and a refillable water bottle. Remember to dress for outdoor activities, as the course takes place on open water. It’s also important to bring a towel, just in case.

### Is lunch provided?

No, lunch is not provided. Participants should bring a packed lunch, snacks, and a water bottle to keep hydrated during the day. We recommend packing lunch items that are easy to eat and energy-boosting to keep your child refreshed throughout the course.

### Are parents allowed to stay and watch the course?

Yes, parents and spectators are welcome to watch the course from the terrace area at Upton Warren. There is no extra charge for spectators, but we do ask that the number of spectators is kept to a minimum to ensure everyone's safety during the course. Alternatively, parents can drop their child off in the morning and pick them up in the afternoon.

### What is the maximum group size for the course?

Group sizes are kept small, with a maximum of 6 participants per instructor and no more than 9 people in total. This setup allows for close guidance throughout the session, ensures plenty of hands-on time in the craft, and makes it easier to practise manoeuvres safely under supervision.

### What happens if it rains during my session?

Rain does not affect your session; you will still be able to take part. Since you will get wet anyway, it can even be more fun in the rain! If the weather becomes unsafe, such as lightning or thunder, the session will pause until conditions improve. You’ll be given options to rebook or request a refund if a session is cancelled. Should Aztec Adventure Ltd, for reasons beyond their control (including high winds, lightning storms and icy conditions*), feel it is necessary to close the activity once your party have already commenced participation, you will be offered alternative activities, times or dates to return within one year and rescheduled free of charge. Alternatively, you may opt to receive a gift card for the full value of your booking, which can be used to rebook at a date and time that suits your group within 12 months. In such circumstances, you will not be entitled to a refund, in part or whole. *In all other weather conditions, we operate as normal and standard conditions apply.
