## FAQs

### How does the certification process work at the end of the course?

Upon successful completion of the course, you will receive the RYA Level 1 certificate. Our instructors assess your skills throughout the two days, ensuring you meet the required competencies, such as sailing in various directions and understanding basic safety procedures. The certificate is a recognition of your newfound skills and is the first step in the RYA sailing pathway, opening doors for further sailing adventures and courses.

### What if the weather is bad on the day?

Sailing is a weather-dependent activity, but we don't let a bit of rain stop us! We continuously monitor weather conditions and adapt our sailing activities accordingly. If the weather is deemed unsafe for sailing (like in the case of high winds or thunderstorms), we have a range of alternative activities and theory sessions to ensure your learning experience continues. Your safety is our top priority, so we'll always make decisions with that in mind.

### What should I bring with me?

Our recommended kit list is: Full set of spare clothing including dry shoes Sun cream Insect repellent Anorak or waterproof jacket Fleece Trainers Old shoes (to get wet) Towel Bag(s) for dirty/wet clothes Snacks Water bottle Hats, gloves and scarf for winter months Any personal medication (please make centre staff aware of this)

### Can you cater for different food requirements?

Yes, we cater for all types of food allergies and religious food requirements. We ask that you inform our reception team at least 2 weeks prior to your visit to allow our catering team to source the necessary ingredients and produce a suitable menu.

### What accommodation facilities are available?

Accommodation is not included in this course. However, it can be arranged upon request and subject to availablity. The majority of our bedrooms sleep between 3 to 4 in bunk beds in each room. Sheets, duvets and pillows are provided. All rooms are en-suite.
