## FAQs

### What should I bring with me for the coasteering session?

You’ll need to bring swimwear to wear underneath your wetsuit, trainers or wetsuit boots (essential for the rocky terrain), and a towel or changing robe for before and after the session. We also recommend bringing shorts to wear over the wetsuit to protect it from sharp rocks. If you have your own wetsuit, feel free to bring it as long as it’s a full-length warm suit. Personal medication can also be brought along if needed.

### Do I need to be a strong swimmer to take part?

Although no experience is required, you will need to be able to swim at least 50 metres unaided. The session involves sea swimming, cliff jumping, and exploring the coastline, so a basic level of swimming ability is important for your safety. All participants will wear buoyancy aids, which provide additional support in the water.

### Is the session suitable for beginners?

Yes, absolutely! The session is designed for all experience levels, and we adjust the challenges based on your group's abilities. Our guides are experienced at working with first-time coasteerers, ensuring the experience is both safe and enjoyable. Some activities, like cliff jumping and swimming through gullies, are optional, so you can take things at your own pace.

### What happens if the weather isn’t suitable for the planned route?

If the weather or sea conditions make the planned route unsafe, the guide will choose an alternative nearby route that still offers a fun and exciting experience. Safety is our top priority, and our guides are highly skilled at adapting to changing conditions to ensure the session remains enjoyable and safe.

### Can I wear glasses or jewellery during the session?

For safety reasons, we do not allow glasses or jewellery to be worn while coasteering. This includes rings, necklaces, bracelets, and hoop earrings. If you wear prescription glasses, we recommend using contact lenses, though prescription goggles are also acceptable. All valuables can be stored safely before you go into the water.

### How long does the session last?

The total session time is up to 3 hours, which includes time for arrival, safety briefings, and changing before and after the activity. The actual coasteering experience typically lasts around 2 hours, with the remaining time allocated for getting geared up, learning safety instructions, and a post-adventure debrief.

### What is the youngest age to book onto a Coasteering Adventure?

Our youngest age for a Group Coasteering Adventure is 10 years old . The youngest age for a Private Coasteering Adventure is 6 years old . To go private, scroll down to see 'more courses by this centre' to book.

### Can my children do it on their own?

We believe Coasteering is one of the best activities to take part in as a family. However if you wanted to just send your children then, as we are an AALA approved centre, this is fine.
