Once the theory is complete, you'll head out on a guided dive on the nearby house reef. During the dive, you’ll practise your coral ID skills and visit a working coral nursery—metal structures placed on sandy areas where coral fragments are grown and maintained. The dive offers a first-hand look at reef restoration in action and gives you the chance to apply your learning directly in the field. If you choose to continue with further training, this experience dive can count towards the full Ocean Gardener Coral Diver course. Location This course is available at two well-established dive resorts in North Sulawesi, one located on the mainland near Manado and the other on the remote and peaceful island of Bangka. Both sites are known for their clear water, thriving reefs, and excellent access to marine biodiversity. Each location features its own dedicated coral nursery within swimming distance of the shore. These nurseries are carefully maintained and offer a safe, hands-on environment for coral education and restoration work. The surrounding reefs offer plenty of opportunities to observe natural coral structures and marine life interactions.
