If you’ve been enjoying the thrill of the trails for a while, but feel your skills have reached a standstill, our Mountain Bike Progression Sessions are your next adventure. Designed to help you navigate the terrain with greater smoothness and efficiency, our sessions will change the way you ride. Say goodbye to the constant cycle of pedalling hard and braking harder!

Our friendly and tailored approach allows us to give you the toolkit to master the trails, guiding you to glide down every route, and exploit trail features to amp up the enjoyment of your ride.

With us, you’ll receive:

  • Personalised one-to-one coaching, giving you the undivided attention you need to hone your skills.
  • Essential training in mountain biking techniques, helping you to achieve your own riding goals.
  • Video feedback and a comprehensive plan of action for addressing your next targets.

Session Breakdown

Over two hours, we’ll help you become a smoother, more confident rider, equipped to tackle trail features found on red to black graded mountain bike trails. The end of the session will see you with a solid structure to your riding for long-term development and improvement.

Here’s what we’re likely to cover:

  • Pumping for Speed: Learn how and where to pump to gain ‘free speed’ while maintaining a balanced and strong body position.
  • Line Choice: Discover the secret to choosing smooth and fast lines on the trail and the optimal speed to make trail features flow.
  • Control on Steep Descents: Master staying in balance and maximising traction at very slow speeds.
  • Manuals and Wheel Lifts: Understand where, when, and how to use them to your advantage on the trail.
  • Steps and Safe Drop-off Techniques: Gain total control in the trickiest of situations, at both high and low speed.
  • Focus and Flow: Engage in a comprehensive analysis of a full trail, learning how and when to use core skills and speed techniques to make the trail flow.

Is This You?

We’ve tailored this course for riders who are:

  • Already confident and competent in all aspects of our Beginners Mountain Bike Skills Course.
  • Regular off-road riders (at least twice a month) on blue and red graded single-track trails at trail centres or similar venues.
  • Owners of their own mountain bikes.
  • Able to ride confidently on narrow single-track trails with small rocks, roots, and steps.
  • Engaged in cardio-exercise at least twice a week.
  • Comfortable riding moderately steep terrain at a steady pace.
  • Capable of riding for at least three hours comfortably.
  • Aged 18 and over, unless accompanied by an adult also participating in the course.

We can run coaching from most locations in Hampshire, Surrey and Sussex. Our favourite spot is Queen Elizabeth Country Park near Petersfield. Just add to the booking notes what your preference is.

 

Please Note: Our trip excludes bike hire (though we can assist you with this), transport to the venue, and parking costs.

  • You can cancel until 48 hours before your booking for a full refund
  • If you cancel after that, you’ll pay 50% up to 24 hours beforehand and the full amount after 24 hours 

Moderate

  • You can cancel until 5 days before your booking for a full refund
  • If you cancel after that, you’ll pay 50% up to 48 hours beforehand and the full amount after 48 hours 

Firm

  • To receive a full refund, you must cancel at least 14 days before their booking
  • If you cancel between 7 and 14 days before your booking, you’ll pay 50% of the cost
  • If you cancel less than 7 days before the booking starts, you’ll pay the full amount

Strict

  • To receive a full refund, you must cancel at least 30 days before your booking
  • If you cancel between 7 and 30 days before your booking, you’ll pay 50% of the cost
  • If you cancel less than 7 days before the booking starts, you’ll pay the full amount
  • You can also receive a full refund if you cancel within 48 hours of paying, if the cancellation occurs at least 14 days before the booking starts
