### Highlights
Spend time on a quieter stretch of river as you travel through the Eden Valley on a guided journey. This session focuses on enjoying the surroundings, moving at a steady pace, and taking in a different side of Cumbria. It’s a good option for those who want something relaxed but still active. 🌊 Key Details Duration: 5 hours Location: Around 20 minutes from M6 Junction 41 Minimum age: 6 years Maximum group size: 12 people 🛶 What to Expect The day begins with a short chat and meeting at the bottom of the section of river we'll be paddling, After getting kitted out we will head up to the top of the river via a gorgeous short scenic drive through the Eden valley, THEN you’ll receive a simple safety briefing and introduction to how the journey will work. The first part of the river is calm and steady, allowing everyone to get comfortable and settle into the pace. As you continue downstream, the route opens up into a mix of gentle flowing sections and light rapids. There’s time to stop along the way, take part in river games, and explore the banks where possible. The guide keeps things flexible, adjusting the pace and stops depending on the group, so it never feels rushed or overly structured. Wildlife is often spotted along this stretch, Dan and Jack are always happy to share knowledge of birds, wildlife and history of the area and route, adding to the overall experience. Towards the end, the river builds slightly, leading into a more noticeable rapid (class 3+) to finish. It adds a bit of energy before the journey comes to an end near Armathwaite. You’ll have time to get changed and relax afterwards, making it a full but easy-going session on the water. 📍 Location This experience takes place along the River Eden between Lazonby and Armathwaite in Cumbria. The route runs through a largely private valley with very limited access, meaning the river itself becomes the main way through the landscape. This gives the journey a more remote and uninterrupted feel compared to busier areas. A typical meeting point is Armathwaite, not to far from Penrith. The area is easily reached from the M6, around 20 minutes from Junction 41. While it’s not within the Lake District National Park, it offers a quieter alternative with open countryside, riverbanks, and a strong sense of space not commonly found in the UK! ✅ Prerequisites This session is suitable for a wide range of abilities, including families and those new to river activities. You should feel comfortable around wate…
