## FAQs

### Can you pick me up and drop me off?

Yes, we can provide a pick-up and drop-off service from select locations. This service costs £50 and is available from areas close to Llanberis, Caernarfon, Pwllheli, Abersoch, Nefyn, Porthmadog, Beddgelert, and Blaenau Ffestiniog. Pick-up is usually at 09:30, with drop-off at around 16:30. Unfortunately, we can’t collect from anywhere in North Wales—only from the areas listed.

### What should I bring with me for the hike?

For the hike, you’ll need sturdy hiking boots or trainers, a waterproof jacket and trousers, and warm layers to adjust to changing weather conditions. Bring a backpack with water, snacks, and any personal medication you might need. Depending on the weather, you might also want to pack a warm hat, gloves, sunscreen, a camera, walking poles, and a thermos. If you're interested in a swim or feel like taking a dip, bring a swimming costume too!

### Can I choose the route or do I have to follow a set one?

Yes, you can absolutely choose the route. Before the hike, you’ll have a chance to discuss with your guide the different options available. Whether you want a challenging scramble, a ridge walk, or a peaceful summit hike, your guide will plan the day to suit your preferences. If you’re not sure, your guide will suggest options based on your experience and fitness level.

### What’s the fitness level required for this activity?

Hiking in the mountains can be physically demanding, so a reasonable level of fitness is recommended. The terrain can be uneven, with some uphill sections, rocky paths, and occasional mud or slippery spots. Participants should be able to walk uphill for up to 30 minutes at a time and be comfortable walking on uneven ground. If you’re unsure about your fitness level, it’s worth discussing with your guide to ensure the route is suitable for you.

### Will I need any special equipment for the hike?

While you don't need any specialised equipment, having proper hiking boots or sturdy footwear is essential for comfort and safety. If you prefer, you can bring walking poles to help with uneven ground. Your guide will provide the necessary safety equipment for the hike, including first aid kits and emergency gear. If you’re unsure about anything, feel free to ask before the trip.

### How long will the hike take?

The hike is a full-day experience, with duration depending on the route chosen. Most hikes last around 5-7 hours, but the time spent on the trail will vary based on your pace, route, and weather conditions. There will be breaks for rest, food, and hydration along the way, making sure everyone stays comfortable throughout the day.

### What happens if the weather is bad on the day of my hike?

The weather in the mountains can change quickly, and while we always plan for the conditions, safety is the top priority. If the weather forecast is particularly poor or dangerous, we may reschedule the hike. Your guide will monitor conditions closely and advise you in advance if anything needs to change. You’ll be given plenty of options to reschedule if necessary.
