## FAQs

### Are there toilets on-site?

Public toilets are available at the car park on Lower Street. Please note that these facilities are approximately a 10-minute walk from Salhouse Broad itself, so plan accordingly before heading to the hire location or venturing on your activity.

### Is the site dog-friendly?

Yes, Salhouse Broad is a dog-friendly location. We ask all visitors to clean up after their dogs using the designated dog waste bins available on-site. If your dog has poor recall or is prone to chasing wildlife such as wildfowl, it should remain on a lead at all times.

### Can I swim in Salhouse Broad?

Swimming is strictly prohibited at Salhouse Broad due to safety concerns. The water is used frequently by boats, and there are submerged hazards that could pose risks to swimmers. If you have any questions or concerns about water safety, Rangers on-site are available to provide guidance.

### Can I take my dog in a canoe or kayak?

Dogs are allowed in Canadian canoes, but it’s worth noting that this increases the chance of capsizing, so it is done at your own risk and not recommended. Unfortunately, dogs cannot accompany you in sit-on-top kayaks, as these lack the space required for passengers.

### How many people can fit in a kayak?

Our sit-on-top kayaks are designed for one person only, ensuring a safe and comfortable paddling experience for individuals.

### Can I get food and drink at Salhouse Broad?

Yes, from April to October, you can enjoy a selection of refreshments at The Hungry Otter, which is conveniently located on-site. Offerings include teas, barista coffees, cakes, ice cream, and more, making it a great place to relax after your activities.

### Is there a play area for children?

Yes, Salhouse Broad features a children’s play area designed by CAPco. It includes a climbing net, high walkway, climbing wall, slide, and monkey bars, offering plenty of activities to keep younger visitors entertained.

### Is Salhouse Broad wheelchair-friendly?

While Salhouse Broad welcomes visitors of all abilities, wheelchair access is currently limited. The boardwalks are wide enough for wheelchairs, but some paths are uneven, and shingle along the moorings can make navigation difficult. We are actively seeking funding to improve accessibility so everyone can fully enjoy the Broad.
