### Highlights
Explore Barcelona with ease on a reliable and comfortable electric bike, perfect for city streets, coastal rides, or heading uphill into quieter neighbourhoods. With high-quality Dutch-made frames, smooth gears, and pedal assist up to 25km/h, you can cover longer distances without breaking a sweat—ideal for sightseeing, commuting, or simply enjoying the city your way. You’ll receive two standard locks (ring and cable), plus a third lock for added security. A fully charged battery gives you a riding range of up to 45km, but for longer hires we’ll also supply a charger so you can top up your battery overnight or during a coffee stop. Riding through Barcelona on an e-bike is especially useful for covering ground quickly between popular areas like the Gothic Quarter, Eixample, and Barceloneta. The e-bikes make short work of hills and longer straight roads—great if you want to head up to viewpoints like Montjuïc or cruise along the beachfront without tiring yourself out. You can switch between motor support and regular cycling whenever you want, and thanks to the lightweight frame, riding without assistance is still smooth and manageable. Each e-bike comes with safety lights, hydraulic brakes, and adjustable handlebars and saddles to ensure comfort no matter your height. Helmets, baskets, panniers and child seats (up to 25kg) are available as optional extras. Free Wi-Fi is available in the shop, and staff are on hand to help with fitting, directions, and cycling advice if you need it. Location Pick-up and return your electric bike from either of our two city-centre locations: Carrer de Montserrat, 8 or C/ dels Tallers, 45, both situated in the heart of Barcelona’s Old Town. These locations are within easy reach of Las Ramblas, Plaça Catalunya, and major metro and bus stops, making them ideal starting points whether you’re staying locally or arriving from further afield. You'll also be close to major bike lanes and safe cycle routes leading to the beach, parks, and hills. Prerequisites All riders must be at least 16 years old to hire an e-bike. No specific experience is needed, but riders should be confident cycling in…

## FAQs

### What is included in the bike rental?

When you hire a bike, everything you need for a smooth and enjoyable ride is taken care of. Each rental includes a high-quality, Dutch-made bicycle that is carefully maintained and thoroughly checked for safety and performance before each use. You’ll also receive two locks—a frame lock and a cable lock—so you can secure your bike properly when not in use. For electric bikes, a third lock is provided for extra security. As part of the service, you’re welcome to use the free Wi-Fi available in the shop, and staff are always on hand to answer any questions or offer local cycling tips.

### What bike sizes are available?

We have a range of bike sizes to suit most people, whether you're tall, short, or somewhere in between. Our city bikes are available in two adult frame sizes, designed to accommodate a wide range of heights. To ensure the best possible fit, all bikes come with adjustable saddles and handlebars, which can be fine-tuned to your height before you set off. If you’re unsure which size you need, our team will be happy to help you choose and make the adjustments for you on the spot. For younger riders, we also stock two different sizes of children’s bikes. These can be viewed/booked via the link at the bottom of this page.

### How do I lock the bike securely?

Although Barcelona is considered one of the safer European capitals, bike theft can be a problem, which is why we provide strong, reliable locks with every rental. Each bike comes with a built-in ring lock as well as a separate cable lock. If you're renting an e-bike, a third lock is provided for added peace of mind. The recommended method is to use the ring lock to secure the back wheel and frame, and then use the cable lock to attach the bike to a fixed object like a bike rack, gate, or sturdy post. If you’re cycling as part of a group, it’s also a good idea to chain the bikes together using the cable lock. Always double-check that the locks are fastened correctly and never secure your bike to something that can easily be moved or broken.

### What should I wear when cycling?

Comfort and practicality are key when deciding what to wear while cycling around Barcelona. Choose clothing suited to the day’s weather, but make sure it allows freedom of movement. Lightweight, breathable materials are ideal in warm weather, while layering is useful if it’s cool—especially in the mornings or evenings. You might start off feeling chilly, but after a few kilometres, your body temperature will rise, and you may want to remove a layer. Avoid tight or restrictive clothing, especially trousers, as these can become uncomfortable on longer rides. Footwear should also be suitable for pedalling—trainers or flat-soled shoes are best.

### Are there any areas in Barcelona where it’s not safe to cycle?

Barcelona is generally a very safe place to cycle, with well-developed infrastructure and a strong cycling culture. There are no specific areas that should be avoided altogether. However, as with any city, it’s wise to use your judgement. If a street feels too quiet or isolated at night and makes you uncomfortable, it’s best to take a more active or well-lit route. Sticking to marked cycle lanes and busier streets after dark is always a safer option.

### Where am I allowed to park the bike?

While cycling in Barcelona is easy, parking your bike correctly is important to avoid fines or your bike being removed. You should always aim to use designated bicycle racks, which are widely available across the city. These racks provide a secure place to leave your bike and help keep footpaths and roads clear. Never park your bike in the road, on pedestrian crossings, or in the middle of the pavement where it could obstruct others. In high-traffic areas such as train stations or busy plazas, be especially careful to use the marked bicycle parking zones. If in doubt, ask the rental staff for recommended locations.

### What is the minimum age to hire an e-bike?

You must be at least 16 years old to hire and ride an electric bike. This applies even if you’re accompanied by an adult.

### Can I charge the e-bike during a multi-day rental?

Yes, all multi-day hires include a charger so you can recharge the battery overnight or during the day at cafés, restaurants, or hotels with a standard power outlet.
