### Essential information
_None._

### What’s included
Winter wetsuit Helmet Buoyancy aid

### What’s not included
Travel to and from the Isles of Scilly Personal swimwear and towel Lace-up shoes for coasteering Extra shorts to wear over the provided wetsuit

### Kit list
Please don't forget to bring: 1. Most importantly is footwear. Suitable footwear is crucial for coasteering, so please don't forget! A pair of trainers is my recommendation (obviously a pair you are happy to get wet), but wetsuit boots are fine if you have them (they don't grip as well). Slip-on shoes (such as the ubiquitous beach/reef/sea shoes) are not suitable, as they are easily sucked off by waves and jumping. 2. You also need to bring an extra pair of shorts, to go over the wetsuit. This gives you a little extra padding, and helps protect our wetsuits from the barnacles. 3. Your usual swimming kit and a towel.

## FAQs

### What is coasteering?

Coasteering is an adventurous activity that involves exploring rocky coastlines, primarily within the inter-tidal zone. Participants engage in a mix of wild swimming, walking, scrambling, and cliff-jumping.

### When is coasteering available?

Coasteering sessions run from Easter to autumn on demand, typically on one or two days of the week. Check our calendar below for scheduled sessions or contact us via the adventuro chat to arrange a bespoke adventure.

### How do I reach the coasteering site?

Our headquarters are located opposite Peninnis Farm Lodges, just outside Hugh Town on St. Mary's island. If you're staying on an off-island, such as St. Agnes or Tresco, you can reach us via inter-island boat services.

### Is strong swimming necessary?

Not at all. Buoyancy aids and wetsuits provide significant flotation, making swimming stretches manageable. Typically, swims are short, under fifty meters.

### Can non-swimmers join?

Peninnis Head is quite a wild place! Some swimming ability is required to participate in this experience. You don't need to be an Olympic freestyle contender, but this isn't one for non-swimmers.

### Is coasteering safe?

While some may perceive coasteering as risky, when conducted with certified providers following safety guidelines, it's a relatively safe adventure activity. Risk is inherent in all adventure sports, but proper management keeps it to acceptable levels.

### What should I bring?

Essential items to bring include suitable footwear, extra shorts, swimming attire, and a towel to dry off afterward.

### Can I use my own wetsuit?

Participants may use their own wetsuits, provided they meet winter-grade specifications (5/4mm thickness). We can assess suitability upon arrival.

### Can I wear glasses or contacts?

Contact lenses are generally suitable for coasteering, although there's a slight risk of losing them. Glasses wearers may need a securing strap or alternative eyewear.

### Do you offer group discounts?

We do offer discounts on larger group bookings for some of our courses. If you're booking a group of 8+ participants, you can contact the adventuro team via the chat below to enquire.
