## FAQs

### What is coasteering?

Coasteering is an adventurous activity that involves exploring rocky coastlines, primarily within the inter-tidal zone. Participants engage in a mix of wild swimming, walking, scrambling, and cliff-jumping.

### Is strong swimming necessary?

Not at all. Buoyancy aids and wetsuits provide significant flotation, making swimming stretches manageable. Typically, swims are short, under fifty meters.

### Can non-swimmers join?

For non-swimmers we recommend you try our Beginners' Coasteering Courses, also held at Praa Sands in west Cornwall.

### Is coasteering safe?

While some may perceive coasteering as risky, when conducted with certified providers following safety guidelines, it's a relatively safe adventure activity. Risk is inherent in all adventure sports, but proper management keeps it to acceptable levels.

### What equipment is provided?

We supply high-quality winter wetsuits, buoyancy aids, and helmets from reputable brands to ensure participant safety and comfort.

### What should I bring?

Essential items to bring include: Lace-up shoes to wear in the sea, extra shorts to be worn over the provided wetsuit, swimming attire, and a towel to dry off afterward.

### Can I use my own wetsuit?

Participants may use their own wetsuits, provided they meet winter-grade specifications (5/4mm thickness). We can assess suitability upon arrival.

### Do I need to be fit?

Basic fitness is sufficient for coasteering. While swimming may be tiring for some, there are ample opportunities for rest breaks.

### Can I wear glasses or contacts?

Contact lenses are generally suitable for coasteering, although there's a slight risk of losing them. Glasses wearers may need a securing strap or alternative eyewear.

### Do you offer group discounts?

We do offer discounts on larger group bookings for some of our courses. If you're booking a group of 8+ participants, you can contact the adventuro team via the chat below to enquire.
